Matai Sarte Matai Sarte 6'2" | 235 lbs | LB Lakes | 2023 State WA , LB, Fife
At 6’2” 235 lbs. Sarte is a true college level inside LB. He’s an aggressive downhill run stopper that uses his short area burst and quick trigger to make plays as they are developing at or behind the LOS. A plus athlete that can bend off the edge as a rusher or flip his hips to redirect and close space on the ball in a hurry. Good key and play diagnosis, he’s patient with his reads but is quick to transition and react. Smart/efficient with his attack angles and is able to fight through blockers using his hands to free himself to make a tackle. He’s an attacking defender that delivers strong contact and wraps up to the ground. Has a lot of D1 interest from P5, G5, and FCS programs just waiting on that first one to pull the trigger.
Jamil Beleford Jamil Beleford 5'10" | 190 lbs | ATH Rainier Beach | 2023 State WA , LB, Rainier Beach
Beleford shows the ability to be a three down LB with his effectiveness in both coverage and run support. At 5’10” 205 lbs. he possesses a well-built and compact frame with a strong lower half. He sees the field well, flashing good instincts and awareness as he’s diagnosing and going through his reads. He breaks hard on the ball and displays good closing speed to eat up space between him and the ball carrier. He’s a high effort high motor defender that is relentless in pursuit leading to backside and down field tackles. Strong open field tackler that rarely misses and finishes the play. Could transition to a safety depending on development and scheme at the college level.

Bam Afalava Bam Afalava 6'2" | 230 lbs | LB Emerald Ridge | 2023 State WA , Edge, Emerald Ridge
Afalava transferred from Rogers to Emerald Ridge where he plays DE but given his size, skillset, and positional versatility he could transition to multiple positions in the front seven. At 6’2” 230 lbs. he possesses a well-balanced and athletic frame with good growth potential as he continues to develop. He’s an active defender that works hard and fast off the edge displaying food bend and flexibility around the corner. Good efficient use and command of his hands to maintain separation and disengage from blockers. A plus athlete with good body control and coordination to swat down balls at the LOS or redirect and chase down field. Recruitment has picked up with recent visits to Washington State and Eastern Washington along with a number of junior day invites from D1 programs.

Ray Wright Ray Wright 5'10" | 200 lbs | LB Yelm | 2023 State WA , LB, Yelm
The 5’10” 205 lb. LB out of Yelm is a two time SSC South Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 126 total tackles, nine sacks, and 19 TFL’s. He’s an explosive defensive playmaker with a downhill attacking style of play. A strong and savvy athlete showing excellent range, burst to close, and game speed in pursuit. He’s extremely violent at the POA exploding his hips and driving his legs through contact to finish off opponents to the ground. Love his instincts and anticipation as the play is developing, he uses good eye discipline to quickly diagnose plays and trigger to the ball. Possesses a great nose for the football and makes big time plays when it matters most. An under the radar prospect that deserves more recruiting attention entering his senior year.

Zach McLean, Edge, Interlake
McLean has shown tremendous year over year improvement throughout his HS career. He has continued to add good weight/strength while advancing both technically and athletically. At 6’2” 240 lbs. he’s quick out of his stance and shows good speed and bend coming off the edge. He’s a physical and aggressive force that excels as a relentless pass rusher capable of collapsing the pocket and getting to the QB. Good leverage and pad level at the POA. A thumper that plays with heavy hands and flashes good power/leg drive through contact and is tough to break once he gets his hands on the ball carrier. Expect his recruiting stock to be on the rise as he continues to develop going into his senior season.
