San Jose State got a late commitment this week from Etiwanda defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="25241" first="Dejon" last="Roney"].
Roney is the No. 4 ranked defensive lineman in the state according to Prep Redzone and is a top 40 prospect in the state according to 247Sports and Prep Redzone.
He is 6-foot-3, between 275 and 275 pounds and has the versatility to be a 3-technique or a nose tackle. He moves well for a guy of his size and fires off the ball.
Roney chose San Jose State over 14 other schools including Arizona State, Miami, Nebraska, Oregon, Tennessee and USC among others. He is the third defensive lineman in San Jose State’s 2022 recruiting class and the second from Southern California joining [player_tooltip player_id="25302" first="Jairus" last="Satele"] of St. John Bosco.

Bishop Alemany class of 2022 defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="25260" first="Rashad" last="McKenzie"] committed to Washington State this past week.
McKenzie had 48 tackles, 18 for a loss with 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble from the defensive end spot last season.
He chose Washington State over 9 other schools including Arizona State, Nebraska, Oregon, Texas and USC among others.
McKenzie is the fifth player from California in Washington State’s 2022 recruiting class which features: [player_tooltip player_id="25256" first="Taariq" last="Al-Uqdah"] (Inglewood), [player_tooltip player_id="142002" first="Zack" last="Miller"] (Orange Lutheran) and [player_tooltip player_id="186990" first="Kendall" last="Williams"] (Lincoln).

Dominguez (Compton) class of 2022 cornerback [player_tooltip player_id="253236" first="Takhari" last="Carr"] committed to Montana State this week.
Carr was near the top of the leaderboard in the Southern Section in interceptions last season. He had 9 interceptions that he returned for a combined 304 yards and one pick six. He also had a kick return touchdown and three touchdown receptions.
He is fluid in transition and has the speed to be in the hip pocket of most receivers in man coverage. He is aggressive and can fly up the field to stop the run and be the outside contain man on sweeps.
Carr also had offers from Idaho and San Jose State. He is the first player from California in Montana State’s 2022 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 7 in the Big Sky according to 247Sports.

Mater Dei (Santa Ana) class of 2024 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="147730" first="Brandon" last="Baker"] picked up four offers this past week.
The 6-foot-5, 280 pound lineman was offered by Texas A&M, Washington, Texas and Arizona.
Baker was outstanding at the Giant Skillz National Showcase in February and looked good at the Under Armour Next All-American Camp. He played left guard for the Monarchs last season but may slide to right tackle in the future.
He is up to 12 offers now and recently took an unofficial visit to USC.
