Off-season showcases give athletes the opportunity to fine tune their skills, receive training as well as teaching from experts at their respective positions and raise their stock with perspective colleges to enhance their recruitment. Showcase Football puts on the best camps around the country and provides the platform that allows athletes to showcase their skills not only in drills, but what sets them apart is Showcase Football places the players in a full game simulation. We will start in the trenches, the foundation of any football team and highlight the offensive line standouts.
Gabriel Hernandez (OL) 6’3 280
C/O 2023
Lumberton High School
Twitter: @gabe_hernan76
Hernandez is the total package that colleges covet in an offensive linemen. Gabriel has exceptional athletic ability, is nimble on his feet and is explosive at the point of attack. Hernandez has a devastating punch, violent hands, plays with a mean streak, has a relentless motor and is vocal leader in the huddle. He is technically sound, uses precise hand placement when engaging and understands leverage which he uses to his advantage. Hernandez never backed down from a challenge and won rep after rep in 1v1s and lead the offensive line in the game simulation session. Gabriel was voted the Most Outstanding Player for the offensive linemen by the Showcase Football staff. During the showcase, Hernandez displayed his versatility by lining up at every position along the offensive line. After watching his 2021 fall season tape, Gabriel is a no holds barred type of linemen who could come in and adapt quickly in a college program. Hernandez was voted 1st team All-District in 10-4A DI playing for Lumberton High School in 2021. On Friday Nights, he causes havoc to opposing defenses and dishes out punishment. After wrecking defenses for 51 knockdowns with 23 pancakes, Gabriel left no doubt that he has a seek and destroy mentality. With interest from Central Michigan and Lamar University, and his MOP Performance at the Showcase Football Southwest Regional, Hernandez’s stock will continue to rise.
Ryley Hall (G/T) 6’3 280
C/O 2023
Dickinson High School
Twitter: @Ryley66618830
Hall has quick feet, comes off the line hard and low, has a strong punch and his football savvy technique set him apart in 1v1 drills. Ryley uses his violent hands to stun his opponents when he engages and his leg drive when run blocking set the tone early during the OL vs DL bag drills. Hall showed off his versatility throughout the showcase by lining up at Guard and Tackle on either side of the offense. Ryley has an athletic frame at 6’3 280, which was on full display when watching his fall tape for Dickinson High School. Hall explodes off the ball, pulls well on the trap play/inside run and has the speed and agility to reach the second level when blocking down field. Ryley has a quick kick slide in pass protection, keeps a wide base, sets the table well and on film displays a high football IQ when communicating with his teammates to pickup and handoff opponents who blitz. Hall’s power was on display this season during Powerlifting in February when he squatted 500 LBS and benched 295 LBS. Ryley opened lots of eyes at the Showcase Football Southwest Regional and colleges should definitely take notice in 2022.
Deossie Yancey (OL) 6’7 370
C/O 2023
Houston Lamar High School
Twitter: @DeossieLYancy
Yancy has a towering presence at 6’7 but has grit and toughness that can’t be coached. Yancey biggest asset is his strength. When he locks on a defender, they don’t get loose. Deossie stays in attack mode thru the whistle, which is on display when watching his fall 2021 tape playing for Houston Lamar High School. Yancey is a hard worker, competes on every play, is not afraid to do the dirty work and during the Showcase Football Southwest Regional never backed down from a challenge. Deossie has the the upside that college coaches search for in next level offensive linemen and with some polishing as well his continued focus on his conditioning there is no doubt that Yancey will choose a collegiate home in 2023. Yancey has been on recent visits to Texas A&M and the University of Houston.
Evan Jordan (RT/RG) 6’2 350
C/O 2024
Dobie High School
Twitter: @EvanJordan74
Jordan fires off the ball using good leverage, gets his hands in place using proper technique and his strength at the point of attack along with his low center of gravity give him an edge during run blocking. Evan has a stout, compact build which allows him to pack a punch at impact. Jordan, when he engages has piston like leg drive that moves defenders off their axis. Jordan was a standout during the bag 1v1 drills overpowering defenders. After reviewing his fall 2021 tape, the sophomore guard shows that is a road grader in the run game. Jordan also kicks out to offensive tackle and shows that he has the footwork to pick up pass rushers out on the edge. Evan has a quick first step and is agile enough to reach the second level which made him a key contributor in the Dobie High School run game. With continued maturity and growth over the next two seasons, the promising sophomore’s stock will continue to rise.
