The Prep RedZone Next class of 2026 Watch List Vol. 2 was recently released. This is a list of prospects, not yet in high school, that look to project to play at the FBS/FCS/Division 2 levels in the future.
By no means is this list a sure thing, finalized or complete. It will be updated twice more before the end of August 2022. Again, these are not rankings nor are they an end-all, be-all lists. These are the prospects that we have seen, that stand out to our team.
Below, we’ll take a look at Part 2 of the class of 2026 California prospects, labeled as defensive line prospects, that are currently on the Watch List.
[player_tooltip player_id="283613" first="Etimoni" last="Kailahi"] | Defensive Lineman
Kailahi is quick out of his stance and can get into an offensive lineman in a hurry. He fires off the ball, uses his hands well and showcases the strength to fit through opposing lineman.
[player_tooltip player_id="283635" first="Kellan" last="Kirkpatrick"] | Defensive Lineman
The 6-foot-1, 315-pound lineman has a relentless motor. He moves well for a kid his size both in and out of his stance and laterally. He’s a bull at the point of attack and can move and dictate where opponents go with ease.
[player_tooltip player_id="212229" first="Lex" last="Mailangi"] | Defensive Lineman
The 6-foot-3, 285-pound is another lineman who has dominating qualities. He’s got above-average strength at the point of attack and is nimble and athletic enough to fight past his opponents. His combination of strength and speed makes him a matchup nightmare.
[player_tooltip player_id="212233" first="Shaun" last="Scott"] | Defensive Lineman
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect has the makings of a big-time recruit. The 8th grader already holds offers from Michigan State, Louisville and Arizona and for a good reason. He’s got the size, strength and quickness of a prototypical edge rusher. He’s long, lean and explosive and can get to the quarterback in a hurry.
[player_tooltip player_id="283694" first="Xavier" last="Seward"] | Defensive Lineman
Seward, who is 5-foot-10 and 300-pounds, takes up space in the middle of the OG Ducks defense. He’s got great size and does a good job using his power at the point of attack. He’s punchy and violent with his hands and should be able to use his size to his advantage in the years to come.
[player_tooltip player_id="283616" first="Isaia" last="Vandermade"] | Defensive Lineman
Vandermade shows the ability to get off the ball quickly as well as above-average pursuit ability. He’s quick and nimble for a kid his size and but plays with big-hit ability. He displays excellent snap anticipation and first-step quickness which allow him to get into the opposing backfield in a hurry.
