The 65th annual "Super Bowl of High School Football" will be taking place at Rocco Ortenzio Stadium on May 30th, 2022. In today’s piece, we will break down the current rosters from top to bottom and detail just how loaded and deep the Pennsylvania team stands. I hope to be in attendance for this awesome event that will collect some of the best athletes and have them competing in one setting.
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Quarterbacks</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="87823" first="Joey" last="Daniels"] | 5’9, 175 | Mt. Lebanon | University of Dayton </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="27663" first="Ethan" last="Kohler"] | 6’3, 200 | Perkiomen Valley | West Chester University </span></em></p>
We begin with none other than Mt. Lebanon’s leader and champion under center, [player_tooltip player_id="87823" first="Joey" last="Daniels"]. The decorated signal-caller and 6A state champion will be taking the reigns for the Pennsylvania team. Not sure if there could be a better representative than the future University of Dayton Flyer. The young man has overcome plenty of doubt and criticism, only to still become an Elite 11 invitee, still be recruited to a D1 program, and still bring home a state title and an undefeated season for his hometown. The [player_tooltip player_id="87823" first="Joey" last="Daniels"] story is still being written but it’s safe to say the Big33 PA team will be in great hands with this young man under center.
The second quarterback on the roster is another high-saught after prospect who has set his sights on West Chester University for the next four years. [player_tooltip player_id="27663" first="Ethan" last="Kohler"], the standout QB out of Perkiomen Valley held offers from Shippensburg University, Kutztown University, and Slippery Rock before WCU came in and sealed the deal. Kohler impresses both pre-snap and post-snap while also carrying a build coveted by college coaches. The offense will be churning up yards with either Daniels or Kohler under center.

<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Running Backs</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="69211" first="Landon" last="Alexander"] | 6’0, 197 | Central Valley | University of Albany </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="95849" first="Alex" last="Tecza"] | 6’0, 195 | Mt. Lebanon | U.S. Naval Academy </span></em></p>
We spoke about who will be under center for the PA team, it honestly may not matter when you have two of the more prolific backs in the state toting the rock behind this ridiculous offensive line. One of those prolific backs is Central Valley’s [player_tooltip player_id="69211" first="Landon" last="Alexander"], who undoubtedly dominated week in and week out for CV. The WPIAL 3A player of the year accumulated just over 2500 total yards both through the air and ground while securing 33 total scores on the year. The future Dane can break open a game with minimal effort.
[player_tooltip player_id="95849" first="Alex" last="Tecza"], a teammate of [player_tooltip player_id="87823" first="Joey" last="Daniels"] and U.S. Naval Academy commit, will join Alexander in the backfield representing Pennsylvania. [player_tooltip player_id="95849" first="Alex" last="Tecza"] put up outstanding numbers this past Fall, rushing for more than 2,000 yards on the ground along with 25 touchdowns. The state of PA is loaded with talent at the running back position but you absolutely can’t go wrong with these two studs in the backfield. Alexander and Tecza bring championship pedigree to a team oozing with talent.
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Tight Ends</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="95799" first="Aiden" last="Mack"] | 6’4, 220 | Wyomissing Area | University of Richmond </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Trenton Dunnick | 6’2, 235 | Central York | East Stroudsburg </span></em></p>
Wyomissing’s [player_tooltip player_id="95799" first="Aiden" last="Mack"] and Central York’s Trenton Dunnick will represent the tight end group for Pennsylvania. From a scouting lens, there may not be a better tight-end prospect than future Richmond Spider [player_tooltip player_id="95799" first="Aiden" last="Mack"]. If the talent wasn’t through the roof on the defensive side of the ball, I wouldn’t mind seeing this young man provide reps at DE if need be. This is a winning program’s dream player who is willing to provide something at all three phases of the game. His impact is always felt.
Trenton Dunnick’s skill as a defensive lineman is deserving of joining his running mates Glassymer and Smith on the defensive side of the ball. Again, the other side is so loaded, that a TE designation for Dunnick is fitting. The young man is equally effective on either side of the football, he’s a must-have on a team full of grit. He and OL [player_tooltip player_id="27649" first="Nick" last="Elko"] will be future teammates at East Stroudsburg University.

<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Wide Receivers</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="27688" first="Eli" last="Heidenreich"] | 6’0, 195 | Mt. Lebanon | U.S. Naval Academy </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="27593" first="Mario" last="Easterly"] | 6’0, 185 | Bishop McDevitt | Old Dominion University </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="27566" first="Anthony" last="Ivey"] | 5’10, 190 | Manheim Township | Penn State University </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="27685" first="Deontae" last="Williams"] | 6’0, 187 | Woodland Hills | Undecided </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="27627" first="Devin" last="Whitlock"] | 5’8, 178 | Belle Vernon | University of Pittsburgh </span></em></p>
The triplets are now represented with the third Mt. Lebanon prospect headlining the WR group. [player_tooltip player_id="27688" first="Eli" last="Heidenreich"], who was named the WPIAL 6A co-POTY with teammate [player_tooltip player_id="95849" first="Alex" last="Tecza"], will also be joining Tecza at the U.S. Naval Academy where he plans to spend the next four years of his career. Heidenreich’s senior season as a whole has to be one of the more special and electrifying seasons to watch unfold in my young scouting career. 29 total touchdowns, 2200+ total yards, and great defensive back play to boot. The combination of Heidenreich, Tecza, and Daniels would be enough to make opposing defensive coordinators lose some sleep.
If the prospects above aren’t enough, throw in Bishop McDevitt’s [player_tooltip player_id="27593" first="Mario" last="Easterly"] and Manheim Township’s [player_tooltip player_id="27566" first="Anthony" last="Ivey"]. [player_tooltip player_id="27566" first="Anthony" last="Ivey"] is the highest-ranked prospect on the offense, fitting that he will spend the next four years at Penn State University. Easterly might be the best play-maker on the team, which is obviously saying a ton.
Williams and Whitlock are two awesome additions to this team. Both are two prospects who were often overlooked throughout their high school career. [player_tooltip player_id="27685" first="Deontae" last="Williams"] is still undecided while BVA’s [player_tooltip player_id="27627" first="Devin" last="Whitlock"] will be a PWO at the University of Pittsburgh where he has a real shot at whatever he has his eyes set on. Whitlock isn’t a prospect anyone should doubt, he has quieted any and all haters. Wishing him the best of luck at Pitt.

<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Offensive Linemen</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Brandon Lawhorn-Moore | 6’5, 300 | Kiski Area | Miami University </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="87835" first="Ryan" last="Brubaker"] | 6’6, 285 | Cocalico | University of South Carolina </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="27649" first="Nick" last="Elko"] | 6’4, 295 | Wyoming Area | East Stroudsburg </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Brad Harris Jr. | 6’4, 280 | St. Joseph’s Prep | Rutgers University </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="241809" first="Joden" last="Nelson"] | 6’4, 280 | William Penn (York) | Towson University </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="155796" first="Nick" last="Bryan"] | 6’3, 270 | Thomas Jefferson | Kent State </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="27569" first="Emir" last="Stinette"] | 6’5, 360 | Imhotep Charter | Rutgers University</span></em></p>
In my opinion, the offensive line group is the best position group on the Big33 Pennsylvania team, period. Philly will be well represented by St. Joe’s Prep’s Brad Harris Jr. and Imhotep Charter’s [player_tooltip player_id="27569" first="Emir" last="Stinette"], both of which will be staying close to home to protect at Rutgers University. Harris and Stinette are two of three players in this group that ranked in the Top-25 of their class, [player_tooltip player_id="87835" first="Ryan" last="Brubaker"] is the other. Brubaker, the future Gamecock, is expected to dominate this game. Add in two more Group of Five talents in Brandon Lawhorn-Moore and [player_tooltip player_id="155796" first="Nick" last="Bryan"] and the offense should run smoothly no matter who is represented on the other side. [player_tooltip player_id="241809" first="Joden" last="Nelson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="27649" first="Nick" last="Elko"] are two prospects who are without a doubt FCS-level talents who have chosen to play at the DII level. I imagine they each will have productive careers at Towson and ESU respectively. No matter who gets the nod to start, I will have my eyes set on this group throughout practices as well as the game on May 30th.
