Today we will take a look at some of the best offensive linemen in the city of Austin, Texas. These guys are mean, nasty, and play with a lot of heart and guts in the trenches. Some of these young men will take their talents to the next level and accel their! Without further notice, let’s dive in and take a look at some upcoming premier offensive lineman in Austin!
Michael Garcia- 6’0 245Ibs/C,G/ Stony Point High School
Analysis: Michael Garcia is a stud on offense! Last year he was also named 1st Team All-District at the offensive guard position. Garcia has excellent strength for a man his size, and when he blocks someone, he is trying to make sure they are on their back each and every time. When he pulls on run plays, it is best to move out of the way, unless you want to get blown up because he is an extremely physical guard. He plays with such aggression and tenacity which is what every offensive lineman coach would like! This young man also has keen footwork which allows him to be a force when it comes to run blocking and pass blocking.
Ian Wollard- 6’1 270Ibs/G/ Cedar Ridge High School
Analysis: Ian Wollard is another underrated player to watch for in 2022. He made 1st Team All-District last year as well! Ian Wollard has a solid frame and build. This young man does a very good job at using his footwork to pick up stunts on the defensive line. He has good technique when it comes to blocking and he makes sure to keep his hands and pads low to always maintain leverage. Also, he does a really good job of opening up gaps which helps his running backs gain as many yards as they need. Wollard also plays with a high motor and does not stop until the whistle blows. Please keep your eye on him this year!
Devin Scura- 6’5 245Ibs/T/ Manor High School
Analysis: Devin Scura is a tremendous player. Watching this young man play on the gridiron is a pleasure. He is the ultimate pancake machine that any coach would be looking for. He is tenacious and aggressive as well. He possesses good quickness and speed for his size as well. Scura is a talent that can play at the next level with more development too. Next, he is a very good run blocker, making sure he opens up lanes for his team ,and protects his quarterback extremely well in the passing game. Look out for him to have a great season in the fall of 2022!
Ian Reed- 6’6 305Ibs/T/ Vandegrift High School
Analysis: Ian Reed is a monster on the field. Reed is extremely difficult to get around on the field, due to his massive size and strength! He benches above 300 pounds, squats 500 pounds, and deadlifts 500 pounds which are impressive combine numbers for a young prospect his age! Reed is an offensive lineman that will be playing at the next level as well! He is an extremely physical and opposing player on opponents. He can move anybody against their will too. Reed possesses very good footwork, and is a tenacious run and pass blocker! Finally he was the varsity All-District OL MVP in 2021 and 2021-22 All-Centex First Team. Watch out for him this year and look at him put on a show!
Ben Hartman- 6’5 290Ibs/G/ Lake Travis
Analysis: Ben Hartman is a freight train in the trenches! Hartman has a solid and stout build with excellent strength. he put up impressive combine numbers benching 350 pounds, and squatting 530 pounds. Hartman is very physical ,and plays with lots of energy on every play. He is tremendous when it comes to run blocking opening up holes and pancaking opponents left and right! Also, he has very good technique when it comes to blocking. Hartman does not allow opponents to get leverage on him either when it comes to getting down and dirty in the trenches either! Look for him to have an outstanding 2022 football season!
