Today we stopped in Mansfield Texas to check out some of the athletes at the Nex Gen Camp.
Jack Tanner Jack Tanner 6'6" | 280 lbs | OL Marcus | 2024 State TX – Marcus High school – Class of 2024
Jack made his debut in the initial class of 2024 PrepRedzone rankings as the number seven overall recruit in the state and today he showed why. He has all of the technique that not only excels at the high school level, but that you see in college athletes and at the pro level.
The 6’6” tackle was patient, violent, and had a good showing in one on one’s as one of the best standouts on the day.
He impressed me with how he refit to vice and grip the defender. He looked sudden and coordinated in his of his combine testing and took reps at both tackle spots. I’m excited to see his progress and how he competes vs better rushers as the summer progresses.
Danny Stein – Lamar High school – Class of 2025
Danny is a rising prospect out of Lamar High school in Houston, Texas. Stein has good size at 6’3 270 pounds. He fits the mold of a college center or guard and that translates.
He had a great showing on the day and took reps all over at both center and guard spots which shows that versatility.
He displayed good posture, great demeanor and good body control throughout his sets. In one on one’s he showed great mirror and violence at the junction point as a standout on the day.
Elijah Mendoza – Waxahachie High School – Class of 2026
Elijah is a smooth young tackle prospect that impressed me with his posture and patience in his pass sets. He is a young guy with a bright future and a boatload of potential. He has size and the mindset, uses the right technique, and WANTS to compete and that is what stood out for me.
At 6’4 and 230 pounds, he has some work to do in the weight room but has a great baseline of technique to work with. His mirror was good on the day and after a few reps in one on one’s he settled in. When he bullks up and gets the size to go along with it, he is going to be a tough player to be in front of and really excel
Theodis TC Collins Jr – Class of 2025
TC is an interesting interior prospect who had a good outing and was smooth in his individual drills. He gets after it.
He worked mainly at center and competed well in his one on one’s. I was impressed by his demeanor and willingness to take reps even as of the youngest linemen at the event. That mindset separates him and will only have him ready for more, excited to see his growth.
