The state of Arkansas has had no problem producing talented tight ends over the years and the class of 2023 is no exception. With numerous prospects that have the potential to play on Saturdays in the future at the tight end position. We are going to look at several prospects to get a sense of how talented the tight end position is. Here are some of the prospects to keep an eye on this season. [player_tooltip player_id="75127" first="Shamar" last="Easter"]-Ashdown-6’5” 205-Pounds Easter is one of the most athletic tight ends that has appeared in the state of Arkansas in quite some time. He is an impressive prospect when it comes to using his athletic ability to create separation in the passing game. Easter is a threat in the red zone and his 6’5” frame will serve him well at the next level. He is an unselfish blocker and someone that will block for his teammates. Easter has the potential for a strong 2022 football season, and I look forward to seeing what he has in store for everyone this season. The Maumelle has good speed and can cause problems for opposing defenses with his size and speed. Rogers is fresh off a visit to Tennessee-Martin over the weekend. He is catching the eyes of scouts with his talent for hauling in the football. Rogers has the speed create separation and he is a threat in the red zone that will be tough for opposing defensive backs to account for this season. Rogers is a player to watch out for this season. [player_tooltip player_id="138188" first="Matthew" last="Velasco"]-Prairie Grove-6’2” 225-Pounds Velasco is a versatile tight end that is impressive when it comes to blocking for his teammates. He has no problem at all clearing a lane for his running backs. However, Velasco is not just a blocking tight end. Velasco runs good routes and does a great job of catching the football. Velasco is a player that is flying under the radar but will catch plenty of eyes over the next few months. He is a versatile player that I expect to have a big season in 2022. [player_tooltip player_id="138558" first="Evan" last="Baumgartner"]-Maumelle-5’10” 185-Pounds Maumelle has numerous talented players to keep an eye on over the next few years. Baumgartner is a prospect that can play the tight end or wide receiver spots with equal effectiveness. Baumgartner is a player to watch out for this coming season he has the ability to open some eyes this fall. Maumelle does not seem to have a shortage of talent at the tight end position this season. Keep an eye out for Baumgartner this season.
