The new rankings have been very exciting to go over. There have been so many good players added to the list. I recently went over some of the wide receivers that were put on the list. I thought it would be fun to take a look at the offensive line. Here is a closer look at a few of the guys recently added to the rankings. #76 [player_tooltip player_id="300672" first="Steven" last="Anders"] | 2023 | Edwardsburg | Hudl Anders does a good job of firing into defenders quickly after he snaps the ball at the center position. He plays very strong at the point of attack and has the overall strength to drive defenders out of the play and clear holes for his running backs. Anders has good leverage and is always working to make sure he can block his defender for as long as possible. Anders has good size at 6-2, 275lbs. He is a great football player and will be a key contributor once again for Edwardsburg in 2022. #71 [player_tooltip player_id="323537" first="Aaron" last="Bradley"] | 2023 | Southfield A&T | Hudl Bradley has outstanding size at 6-6, 295lbs. Bradley does a great of staying in a good athletic position when run blocking. He plays with very good leverage when he’s pass blocking and run blocking. With his size and strength, he has the ability to drive defenders to the ground with ease on double-team blocks. I like that Bradley is always looking to play to the whistle. Bradley’s upper body strength allows him to control defenders and not let them get off of him easily. #55 [player_tooltip player_id="300219" first="Ethan" last="Cowie"] | 2023 | South Lyon East | Hudl Cowie is an exciting player to watch. He has outstanding competitive toughness and is always looking to demolish defenders. Cowie is great at turning defenders and blocking them out of the play. He shows the quickness and athleticism to get to the 2nd level and block linebackers. Cowie is the type of lineman that the coaching staff will have a lot of confidence calling run plays to his side. Cowie plays primarily the center position but I believe has the skill set to play any position on the offensive line. Cowie was also great on the defensive line for South Lyon East this past season. #63 [player_tooltip player_id="300075" first="Charles" last="Mackley"] | 2023 | Brother Rice | Hudl Mackley does a great job of pulling at the guard position. He gets out of his stance quickly with the intention to pancake and the player gets in his way. He is a tremendous athlete who can move laterally very well. He has a high football IQ and is almost always blocking the guy that is closest to stopping the play. Mackley has great play strength and is outstanding at the point of attack. Mackley has an outstanding anchor and never gets pushed back. Mackley is a tremendous competitor who is always blocking until the whistle is blown. Like Cowie, I believe that [player_tooltip player_id="300075" first="Charles" last="Mackley"] can play any position on the offensive line. Brother Rice has had a lot of success in football for a long time and it’s partly due to them finding and developing talented offensive linemen like Mackley. The quarterbacks and running backs will be excited to have Mackley returning this season on the offensive line.
