Out of nearly 100 athletes, only 7 could be named MVP of their respective position. The following 7 athletes were locked-in all day and displayed tremendous effort, competitiveness, overall talent, and love for the game. As scouts, coaches, and parents watched, these 7 stood above the rest and got some fancy hardware to go with it. In this article, I'll be going over the 7 MVPs of the showcase and discuss how each player stood out!
QB: [player_tooltip player_id="188030" first="Connor" last="Wolf"] - 2024 - Grand Rapids Catholic Central
Time and time again, [player_tooltip player_id="188030" first="Connor" last="Wolf"] stands out during competition without having a single varsity start and won MVP among some QBs ranked much higher than him. Yesterday he indeed proved himself with stellar accuracy and overall technique. At this pace, [player_tooltip player_id="188030" first="Connor" last="Wolf"] is easily one of, if not the best quarterback in Division 5, and now I'm more confident than ever that Catholic Central will win their 4th state championship in a row. The only question now is how Wolf handles intense pressure because there will be times when the game will be in his hands.
RB: [player_tooltip player_id="323501" first="Cameron" last="Broadnax"] - 2024 - River Rouge
Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="323501" first="Cameron" last="Broadnax"] won the Running Backs MVP yesterday! Considering the RB talent present, this is a huge accomplishment for Cameron. I didn't choose to watch the Running Backs all that much, but I did note that Broadnax had great burst and effort when I did watch. The Lawrence Tech coaches were incredibly impressed by his output, and now I'm incredibly excited for his future at River Rouge!
OL: [player_tooltip player_id="80952" first="Ryan" last="Ross"] - 2024 - West Bloomfield
As I stated in my O-Line Gamechangers article, [player_tooltip player_id="80952" first="Ryan" last="Ross"] dominated the day, and I wholeheartedly agree that he was the best in house. Ross has had a fantastic offseason thus far, and he proved why he's among the best offensive linemen in the state. I don't think he lost a single 1-on-1; he displayed an excellent understanding of footwork, hands, balance, leverage, etc.
WR: Kylon Wilson - 2023 - Farrell (PA)
Wilson traveled to Michigan from Pennsylvania and won Wide Receiver MVP. The only out-of-state talent to win an MVP, Kylon Wilson was insanely twitchy and quick, being a nightmare for DBs all afternoon. Last season, Wilson posted 23 touchdowns with nearly 1300 all-purpose yards. Look out, Pennsylvania; you've got yourself a baller.

DL: [player_tooltip player_id="30349" first="Royce" last="Daugherty"] - 2023 - Watervliet
Royce has had a great year, as he was selected as an all-region defensive lineman following the 2021 season, and so far, he's had a tremendous offseason. Royce is a balanced, sound defensive lineman with an all-around great game. He has an excellent first step with quick, violent hands, and overall he's a tremendous under-the-radar talent. Although, directly following yesterday's showcase, he received an offer from Lawrence Tech!
LB: [player_tooltip player_id="247683" first="Cailin" last="Scott"] - 2025 - Harper Woods
The only freshman to win an MVP award, [player_tooltip player_id="247683" first="Cailin" last="Scott"] was sensational in a group of amazing LBs. I can't tell you how impressed I am with Cailin. Among the elite class including [player_tooltip player_id="251230" first="William" last="Gaskell V"], [player_tooltip player_id="80935" first="Tyler" last="Dosh"], <span data-sheets-value="{"1":2,"2":"[player_tooltip player_id=" data-sheets-userformat="{"2":6275,"3":{"1":0},"4":{"1":2,"2":15856885},"10":2,"14":{"1":2,"2":5723991},"15":"Open Sans"}">[player_tooltip player_id="30334" first="Brayden" last="Courser"], and others, Scott was chosen as MVP. He was great in coverage, going stride for stride against some of the best receivers. He displayed sound, patient footwork with a good IQ, as he never guessed where he would go. He waited until a move was made, and when it happened, he pounced. Harper Woods plays some great teams this coming season in the re-vamped OAA White, and I can't wait to see how he performs.
DB: [player_tooltip player_id="251945" first="Ty" last="Hudkins"] - 2024 - Forest Hills Central
Matt Sauter and I agreed that [player_tooltip player_id="251945" first="Ty" last="Hudkins"] was the MVP of the entire camp. Man, oh man, did he show up and show out! I remember when Ty sent me a DM of him locking up [player_tooltip player_id="190093" first="Nick" last="Marsh"], the #1 ranked WR in the class of 2024 and a easy D1 prospect. I thought, "Man, Ty looks good, and he's consistently performing great at camps, but how great is he?". Yesterday, Ty proved his ranking and more, as he dominated with elite speed, reaction, quickness, footwork, hip movement, and more. Hudkins was unstoppable, and I can't wait to see what he can do in the Ottawa-Kent White and hopefully, FHC plays a pass-heavy opponent if they make the postseason. Hudkins is still an underrated talent, but I truly believe he has Division 1 potential.
