Last Saturday the city of Flint, Michigan was host to some of the top gun-slingers in the Midwest and Canada. The signal callers showed up anxious to show off in front QB evaluators and get recognized as the top QB in their class. I was beyond impressed with the arms from all the athletes at the showcase, but the cream always raises to the top. Here’s my list of the top performers.

The Panthers’ signal caller is straight up the real deal. Standing at a massive 6’5, Chavis instantly grabs coaches, and scouts attention when he walks into the room. Now I have to admit… I was sleeping on the young gun and I’m here to say: It’s time to wake up on Cory! He dominated the showcase this past weekend with his signature quick release and the zip he puts on the rock. What stood out to me the most, was how coachable the young man was. His love for the game shows in the work he has put in, and hunger you can see in his eyes to get better every moment. With Cory’s finish as the top QB performer, and recently balling out at the Elite 11 Regional… he has jumped up on many list as one of the top QBs to watch in the class of 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id="328630" first="Axel" last="Newell"] is going to be a D1 recruit. I’m sure I’m not the first person to say it, but I might be the first person to write about it. The young gun slinger is a freshmen, standing at 6’4 and has a cannon for an arm… the sky is the limit for Newell. Axel balled out this past Saturday, showing off his timing and placement of the rock during 1v1s against some of the states top defensive backs. The Marauder’s field general’s off season has been spend grinding, from stellar 7v7 performances, campus visits, and not to mention making First Team All-Area in Basketball… AS A FRESHMEN! I Currently have Axel ranked as Michigan’s #3 QB in the class of 2025. If you don’t know the name… you do now.
[player_tooltip player_id="119260" first="Jaxson" last="Dosh"]- Davison 2026
It’s starting to become a habit writing about this young gun… but the proof is in the pudding, [player_tooltip player_id="119260" first="Jaxson" last="Dosh"] is the truth. Last Saturday, Dosh put on another head shaking performance and the dude in still walking the hallways of a middle school. There’s an old saying: “Practice beats talent, when talent doesn’t practice” but… what happens when talent practices? [player_tooltip player_id="119260" first="Jaxson" last="Dosh"] is the answer. No one is going to out work this young man, and to be honest not a lot of people are going to out throw him either. The Cardinals of Davison High are going to be terrifying when Jaxson starts walking their hallways, and I’m beyond excited to see all the success coming Jaxson’s way.
