Many of these athletes stay on track and progress by competing in reputable 7v7 tournaments all over the state of Texas. Here is a look at athletes who made an impact last season and are implementing plans and goals to build off their previous season in hopes to make an even greater impact.
Ke’Ondrae Fleeks | 6’4 177 | WR | Wichita Falls
Ke’Ondrea is one of the most disciplined route runners I have witnessed in the 2024 class. If it’s a quick short route or a deep one, he displays excellent body control. With this, he is able to go up and get the ball. His aggression when going up to get the ball allows him to track the ball to precision and bring it in. Definitely not afraid of contact after the catch on those stick routes and fights for extra yards. Ke’Ondrae has set goals for himself, he tells me that he looks to accomplish 500-600 yards receiving, with at least 10 TDs. He strives to be the best teammate he can be, as well as an exemplary role model for his younger teammates coming up in the program.
Jacob Pequeño | 6’2 280 | OL | Parish Episcopal (Dallas, TX)
Quick get off and and precise leverage stand out when you watch Jacob. Run blocking or pass protecting, he is efficient every single play. How well he executes the technique at right tackle is very impressive to say the least. Jacob makes the task of protecting the quarterback’s blind side during pass plays, look easy. He also uses violent hands when keeping an edge rusher out of the backfield. The quickness he shows opens up huge holes in the offensive line, as well as the way he is able to seal off a defender. He is looking to get better everyday by perfecting his technique and becoming more explosive. With an added 20 pounds this offseason, comes added versatility, as he is open to play inside or stay at tackle.
Logan Cundiff | 6’1 171 | QB | Keller Fossil Ridge
Elusive dual-threat quarterback. Executes option plays to precision and with excellent discipline. His arm velocity gets the ball to the receiver quickly, creating big play opportunities. A play stands out where Logan escapes 3 defenders coming, his awareness and escapability are top tier, as he is able to get away and find a clear passing lane or open receiver down field. His passing and running abilities make him a true dual threat. Logan exhibits incredible ball placement on short, quick, and deep passes, this allows his receivers to catch in stride and gain huge yards. Logan wants to have a bigger role on the team in 2022, by continuing to be a leader and encouraging his teammates.
Brett Eskildsen | 6’1 175 | WR | Frisco Centennial
A speedy and disciplined receiver is what you get in Brett. His acceleration to get up field after the catch jumps out. Last season, he gathered up 747 yards on 45 catches with 8 TDs. Displaying a high level of body control when running routes and when laying out to make those tough catches will grab your attention. Runs routes from the slot or the outside with precision. With his agility, he is able to create space from the defender and get away quickly. Brett plans to continue working off the field to become a better player and leader. Looks to increase his explosiveness and contribute more to help with the success of the team.
Jaeshaun Peyton | 6’0 175 | DB | Kileen
Confidence isn’t lacking in Jaeshaun. He shows it every play with his closing speed and instincts. Strength and explosion are key in his game as he provides great run support on the end and the interior, as well as plays through blocks. His footwork helps him to keep his balance and remain explosive, which also created a few turnovers last season. With his speed he is able to stay stride for stride with receivers and execute his ball reaction skill by breaking up the pass. He looks to become a shut down cornerback, as well as help fuel the team in games and practices with the hopes of making a playoff run.
Kylen Fiefia | 6’2 290 | DL/OL | Euless Trinity
Playing both sides of the ball is made to look like light work for Kylen. When on the offensive line he can play tackle or guard. Spending most of last season at right guard, he shows great leverage along with speed to get down field and block. Uses his big frame well with his toughness and excellent hand placement. On the defensive side of the ball, Kylen spends most of his time at nose guard creating chaos. Other attributes are his ability to shed blocks and get to the ball on defense and the tenacity when playing on the offensive line. Kylen tells me he looks forward to making more big stops on defense, as well as helping create more scoring opportunities on offense.
Esus Robledo | 6’0 196 | LB | Midland Legacy
The most impressive attribute about Esus, is his relentless pursuit of the ball. The way he sheds blocks quickly and efficiently keeps him in the play, which allows him to get to the ball and clean up if needed. When a hole is opening up on a run play, you see the discipline from Esus come alive, he is right on top of plugging the gaps and shutting down the run. Great lateral speed and footwork are in the top drawer of his toolbox. He looks forward to competing in 7v7 this summer, attending camps, and being in the weight room consistently to improve and build off his Sophomore season.
Tre Sharp | 5’10 165 | WR | Abilene
Tre’s ability to maintain body control while looking back to locate the ball on a deep throw is a huge asset to his game. A speedy technician when it comes to route running, this helps him create separation on quick and deep passes. Having soft hands creates scoring opportunities for Tre, by being able to secure passes that are thrown over the shoulder or placed where only he can get it. Exhibits high explosiveness when coming off the line to begin a route. Tre plans to continue giving it 100% when the opportunity arises. Also is willing to play wherever he adds value, in order to help the team come together.
Khristian Turner | 5’10 175 | DB/FS | McKinney Boyd
What stands out about Khristian, is his high IQ is when it comes to run support, on the end or the interior. Does very well maintaining coverage and running stride for stride with receivers. Touching again on his superior run support he is instinctive and does not shy away from contact, with this he creates opportunities for turnovers. He plans to make an impact in his first year at McKinney Boyd, by playing lights out on the backend of the defense. Whether playing at cornerback or safety, he is determined to perfect his craft at both positions.
Keegan Kelly | 5’11 163 | WR/S | Arlington Lamar
Physical and explosive off the line, Keegan finds open space with ease. Does really well at executing quick slants and being that security blanket for the quarterback. You see on film that he continues to fight to get open, especially at moments he notices the quarterback in trouble. He shows a high route running IQ, utilizing the mental aspect of the game leaving the defenders blind to what exactly his next move is. When it comes to a contested ball, Keegan’s determination and physicality ensures that he wins the ball. He also sees playing time and plays a key role on the defensive side of the ball at Safety. He looks to be a better version of himself in every aspect in order to help the team win games, whether on offense or defense. Keegan is anticipating this upcoming season, looking to have a break out season and get his name out there.
Damien Johnson | 5’10 165 | DB | Midland Legacy
Damien possesses excellent speed and footwork. His ability to come down for run support is really impressive along with how well he uses inside leverage when defending the deep pass. In the playoffs last year, Damien stood out by keeping top receivers in the state at bay. He is the type of defensive back that will put it all on the line for a chance to shutdown a big play or create a turnover. His footwork allows him to pedal and turn efficiently, maintaining tight coverage on receivers.
Ace Seibert | 6’2 190 | QB | Rockport-Fulton
Ace uses excellent mechanics when dropping back and loading his body. Has massive arm velocity that poses a threat for a big play with a deep pass. Complimented by how well he sets his feet before ripping the ball to a receiver. Shows great awareness and vision when rolling out of the pocket to find an open target. While not labelled a true dual-threat quarterback, he can use his feet to get out of difficult situations. Speaking with Ace, he is wanting to add value to his game by using his feet more, thus earning that label as a true dual threat quarterback.
