Last season, and even in the beginning of the offseason, each of these prospects did not get the amount of attention that they deserve. Below, take some time to read some of our film evaluations to support our effort to give these prospects the credit that they deserve going into the late spring, and summer.
Jahreece Lynch Jahreece Lynch 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR North Surry | 2023 State NC – North Surry
What is not to like about Lynch’s ability to play football. He is long, and he has the ideal size and frame to play the wide receiver position. He boxes out dfenders, and is able to high point the football incredibly well, coming down with the ball and making major plays at all times. He also plays with a good burst and overall speed, thus making it easier for him to make big plays after the catch. He is also efficient in short games, as he holds the ability to turn and run, and burn defenders while doing so. Look for him to continue to grow as an overall player, and for his route running and footwork to improve in the future
Barry Tate- Northeast Guilford
Even though he is a bit of a shorter player, and he has a bit of a thinner frame, he has plenty of upside as a slot receiver. He is very quick and his burst allows him to get in and out of his breaks. Tate can also catch the ball with his arm and body at times, but he also displays the ability to catch the ball cleanly, and take it up field for quick gains. We also like the way that he plays with a good twitch, and allows his footwork to create separation from defenders. If he can continue to become more consistent in his route running, as well as the way he plays at a good pad level and finishes plays, we have no doubt that he will be a stud in the future
Que’Sean Brown Que’Sean Brown 5'8" | 150 lbs | WR East Forsyth | 2023 State NC – East Forsyth
Brown is a very balanced player, as he plays with a good frame and runs with a good stride. He has the ability to high point the football, and box out the fenders just like a basketball player. He has decent speed, but we question his overall top speed. Brown is also quick enough to separate on routes, and to get in and out of his breaks. In addition to this, his twitch can also be seen when he returns the football. Overall, he is an okay route runner, but he has high-upside in his fundamental abilities.
JT Smith Jr- William A. Hough
When watching Smith play, it is evident that he has plenty of gifts and talents with the football in his hands. Some of his talents come from running the football, and other talents come from receiving the football from various angles like a receiver does. Even though he can technically be considered as a running back, we have listed him under the receiver category due to his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield oh, and line up at receiver, and cause major damage to the defense. At the slot position, he catches the ball cleanly, and has strong hands. He also tracks the ball well with his eyes, and proves to finish plays well while also playing with good balance. In addition to this, he also proves to play with good footwork, and we expect this to help him a ton in the future.
