Out of this plethora of players, there are a few that tend to shine the most, thus providing themselves with plenty of high-level offers. Outside of that, there are also plenty of players who have a high level of talent, who have not been receiving the credit that they deserve. Below, we have taken some time to recognize a few of these prospects, as we feel that they have the ability to become incredible players for their teams in the future right away once again
Ahmad Brown- Crisp County
Brown is not only a very talented receiver, but he is a talented ball carrier as a whole. To start, he gets up to top speed very fast, and is able to shed tackles, and gain yards after the catch due to the way he runs at a good pad level. As a pure receiver, he also does a good job of catching the football with his hands, and proves to have a good catch radius, including over the shoulder. We also love the way that he looks the ball into his hands, and does not catch it with his body.
Quentin Thomas- Eagle’s Landing
Thomas has plenty of upside as a wide receiver, and we would love to see him reach his full potential. Last season, he put on tape that he has the ability to catch the ball cleanly, and to play sound football. He also boxes out defenders very well, and shows that he can high point the football regardless of the situation. Thomas also uses his hands and arms very well to create separation, and he does a good job of tracking the ball in the air with his eyes, regardless of the angle that he may be catching the football at. He also proves that he has good body control, and that his burst and speed are not a problem when mixing in his fundamentals and mechanics. In addition to this, we also like the way that he stacks defenders, and uses his feet to help him run good routes.
Zion Taylor- Norcross
One of the things that stands out when watching Taylor’s tape is his ability to run clean routes. His footwork can be a bit choppy at times, but he does a good job of getting in and out of his breaks. Taylor also has a decent frame, and we like the way that he high point’s the football and is able to catch it with clean hands. Even more than this, we love his ability to run with good top speed, and also explode at the line of scrimmage when running routes. While we do believe he needs to work on his intermediate route running, we also recognize that he has plenty of growth ahead of him. If he can continue to catch the ball with clean hands, and continue separate from defenders effectively when running routes, we do not believe he has anything to worry about. Look for him to only get better in the future
Brayden Holmes- Milton
Many fans may be shocked that Holmes made this list, especially due to the fact that he is primarily a defensive player. While this is true, and he is a very effective corner, including the way that he plays with physicality, we also recognize that he has great ball skills, which also translates to the offensive side of the ball whenever he lines up at the slot position, or at running back. Holmes catches the ball with clean hands, and he has the footwork in twitch that it takes to run good routes and spin to separate from defenders. Holmes is also good after the catch, as his burst and speed allows him to get up field, and to make good plays. While we do not expect him to become a receiver full-time, we do want to give him the credit that he deserves, due to his ability to play offense as well, even if it is primarily at running back, rather than slot.
