You can put QBs into many boxes—Pro-Style, Dual threat, Pocket Passers, Strongest Arm, Best Footwork, etc. We may get to some of those, but today we’re focusing on the best Pocket Passers in the class of 2024. Here we have five prospects that all have the unique ability to sling it while in the pocket. These guys range from the #1 player in the 2024 class to #96. Let’s check out who’s on the list!
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="77217" first="CJ" last="Carr"] <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/9771096/CJ-Carr">HUDL </a></strong>
The undisputed #1 QB in the class, [player_tooltip player_id="77217" first="CJ" last="Carr"], is a future Power 5 QB. Having attended some of the most elite camps in the country, Carr is a polished prospect on all fronts. His footwork, mechanics, and general accuracy are unmatched. Look at his film, check out his offers, and stop by his social media accounts. This is a top-tier prospect.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="251234" first="Cooper" last="Nye"] <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/6496669/Cooper-Nye">HUDL</a></strong>
It’s so satisfying watching film of [player_tooltip player_id="251234" first="Cooper" last="Nye"]. The Airport QB is a pure pocket passer, sporting great touch on his throws. Nye is also supremely comfortable in the pocket, not being too antsy. There are few QBs with the throwing talent of Nye, plus he’s got the stats to back up his current ranking. Unfortunately, Nye has suffered two tears in his left labrum (non-dominant shoulder) and will be out for the next 3-5 months.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="206516" first="Preston" last="Crum"] <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/15067725/Preston-Crum">HUDL</a></strong>
Performing excellently during seven on 7’s, [player_tooltip player_id="206516" first="Preston" last="Crum"] has earned himself a shoutout and a bump in his ranking. He’s more dual-threat than most on this list, but his throws have some zip on them and said throws are incredibly accurate. Recently, Crum was named a top performer at the Rising Stars 7 on seven league.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="188030" first="Connor" last="Wolf"] <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/14688240/Connor-Wolf">HUDL</a> </strong>
One of the prospects I’ve spoken about most, [player_tooltip player_id="188030" first="Connor" last="Wolf"], is a well-known sleeping giant. I mean that he’s taking the wheel for a program heavily favored to win another state title in 2022. His mechanics are worlds above most QBs, and he’s a young prospect who knows what it takes to succeed. With a fantastic pool of talent and coaching staff around him, this season should be fun.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="249503" first="Jake" last="Zann"] <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/15140360/Jake-Zann">HUDL</a></strong>
A lesser-known name from Alpena, [player_tooltip player_id="249503" first="Jake" last="Zann"], has an absolute rocket for an arm. He’s a pro-style QB who is often seen slinging it 40+ with great accuracy. I mean, seriously, look at his tape! Even though Zann needs some polish, his ceiling is incredibly high. This is a small-town name from NE Michigan that deserves some recognition. I would LOVE to see him compete at various camps.
