A 2025 list of Oregon's top freshman was recently released https://prepredzone.com/oregon/rankings/2025-rankings/.
Here we take a look at some of the individuals who could be immediate impact players next season. There are numerous young athletes who are ranked but may not play a key role next year due to team depth.
*NO PARTICULAR ORDER
[player_tooltip player_id="285857" first="Nolan" last="Keeney"] 6-4 190 Westview- This just got a lot more interesting with 3* QB [player_tooltip player_id="110171" first="Sam" last="Leavitt"] making the move to West Linn. Keeney has the size and all of the tools to be a major D1 recruit and will have a host of talented kids around him this coming season. Look for Keeney to step up and be one of the NW's most talked about underclassmen
[player_tooltip player_id="285855" first="Baron" last="Naone"] 6-4 205 OLB/DE/TE West Linn- The Lions are loaded on both sides of the football. They would otherwise have numerous 25's playing a role next year. Naone has the size and ability to be an immediate contributor even with the team's depth.
[player_tooltip player_id="152653" first="Zhaiel" last="Smith"] 5-11 175 ATH Central Catholic- Potentially the top recruit in the state of Oregon for the 2025 class. CC graduates a special group but remains loaded. Smith played varsity ball as a freshman in limited time but should play a key role next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="285866" first="Liam" last="Davis"] 6-1 170 ATH Lake Oswego- Davis played Varsity ball as a freshman and could start both ways as a Sophomore. The question becomes where does Coach Coury have him play positionally, as he is a talented QB/WR but still young.
[player_tooltip player_id="285886" first="JoJo" last="Harrower"] 6-3 180 QB Ashland- JoJo started as a freshman at QB. Something rare for any program. He spent a lot of time on his back as the Grizzlies line will need to be much improved. If he gets time, he has one of the state's top 2024 targets in [player_tooltip player_id="152353" first="Caden" last="Negra"] to throw to.
[player_tooltip player_id="285850" first="Brayden" last="Boe"] 6-4 175 WR Mountainside- The Mavericks have legit talent and numbers coming up through the youth ranks. Bowe is a D1 basketball kid but projects as one of the state's top football players as well. Look for Coach Mannion to make sure he's in the mix.
[player_tooltip player_id="285852" first="Avirey" last="Durdahl"] 6-0 175 QB Nelson- Durdahl is a kid we will hear a lot about in the years ahead. He started as a freshman throwing 10 TDs/4INTs in 4 games for the new HS. Everyone is returning as they should be one of the better teams in the Mt Hood this coming season.
[player_tooltip player_id="285851" first="Jace" last="Eveland"] 6-7 315 T Putnam- The word has gotten out on Eveland as the 1st team All-conference O lineman made a name for himself as a freshman. At the 5A level he should absolutely dominate the competition even as a sophomore.
[player_tooltip player_id="285872" first="Truman" last="Brasfield"] 6-0 155 ATH Corvallis- Most aren't aware of Brasfield yet, playing 5A ball. Look for him to be a primary target after catching 19 passes for 300 yards and 2 TDs as a freshman. He should also be considered one of the top defenders for his class making 15 total tackles in 21'.
[player_tooltip player_id="285854" first="Suliasi" last="Laulaupeaalu"] 6-3 335 OL Sherwood- The Bowmen have the potential of being one of the top 6A teams in the state. Suliasi broke out as a freshman earning honorable mention all-conference honors, and could play a key role on a big stage next season if they make a playoff run.
[player_tooltip player_id="285856" first="Landon" last="Fay"] 6-3 235 OLB/DE McMinnville- The Grizzlies are not a traditional power and should be excited about having one of the state's best coming up through the ranks. Expect Fay to be one of the top players in the conference as a Sophomore.
[player_tooltip player_id="285865" first="Kelvin" last="Horton"] 6-1 190 FB/LB Glencoe- With [player_tooltip player_id="28845" first="Royce" last="Fasel"] and others graduating Horton could be thrust into the spotlight next season. He is physically gifted and comes from a talented family, where playing early is nothing new.
[player_tooltip player_id="286686" first="Zachary" last="Davis"] 6-1 225 OLB/DE Central Catholic- Davis has received some national notoriety at a young age and should get an immediate opportunity to back it up for the reigning state champs. He projects as a versatile- dual threat, outside edge rusher.
[player_tooltip player_id="285870" first="Jesaun" last="Gonzalez"] 6-2 180 WR Crater- Gonzalez projects as one of the top players in his conference next season. One of the most respected 7v7 guys in the region Matt Quinn of MVP speaks highly of him, saying he has the potential of being one of 5A's best.
