[player_tooltip player_id="205923" first="Kavaughn" last="Evans"]-OG |6’3 300| |Greensboro| @KingVaugh on Twitter
[player_tooltip player_id="205923" first="Kavaughn" last="Evans"] is a massive offensive lineman that showed immense potential his freshman season last fall. Evans stands at 6’3 300 pounds and uses every bit of his size and power to his advantage. Evans is a force in the trenches, he has really solid footwork and technique that has really helped him in pass protection and paves the way greatly in the run game with his ability to get to the second level with ease. It’s hard to believe Evans was only a freshman last fall, with his size and play, you would think he would’ve been an upperclassman, which is a scary thought for opposing defenses in the 3A. Overall, Evans had a great first season at Greensboro and shows a ton of promise going forward, expect to see him have a great season this fall and possibly pick up some collegiate attention sometime soon as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="308109" first="Braylon" last="Garrett"]-DB |5’8 150| |Minor| @BraylonGarrett1
[player_tooltip player_id="308109" first="Braylon" last="Garrett"] had a great season last fall, he has steadily developed more and more into a really productive defensive back. Garrett is quick, has great hands, and is a super reliable tackler. Garrett does not shy away from contact at all, frequently on tape you can watch him track down and hit or wrap up the ball carrier with ease. In coverage, Garrett is talented as well, he has great closing speed and hands that allow for him to break up passes and disrupt the offense’s passing game. Overall, Garrett was equally effective against both the run and pass, locking down his side of the field. Garrett has a great foundation to build off of, this fall will definitely be a pivotal season in his development as a lockdown secondary member for Minor.
[player_tooltip player_id="308114" first="Trace" last="Thompson"]-QB |6’3 225| |Etowah| @TraceTh13654896 on Twitter
[player_tooltip player_id="308114" first="Trace" last="Thompson"] might be the most slept-on quarterback in his class, and it might not be close. Thompson has some really impressive arm talent, he can make some downright ridiculous throws downfield, on the run, outside the numbers, you name it he more than likely can accurately throw and complete it. In addition to his passing ability, Thompson has great awareness, pocket presence, and quick decision-making. Thompson makes the correct reads, can extend plays by evading pressure, and overall is the type of guy you love to have under center. Shockingly, Thompson has not received much if any collegiate attention, but that should surely change soon. Thompson has a ton of raw talent and potential that would greatly benefit a program at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="308116" first="Phillip" last="Scott"]-OL/DL |6’2 280| |Charles Henderson| @scottyplain on Twitter
[player_tooltip player_id="308116" first="Phillip" last="Scott"] is a versatile athlete that thrives in the trenches, playing both on the offensive and defensive line for Charles Henderson. Scott is a mauler on both sides of the ball, but he really excels at offensive guard. Scott is fantastic on the interior, he has great anticipation, strength, and body control that he uses to protect his quarterback, which he did very well last fall- against some serious competition. Against the run, Scott is seriously good. Often you will see him on film driving defenders in the second level 10-20 yards back, allowing for massive spacing for his run game. Overall, Scott has a ton of talent in the trenches, and he will definitely continue to dominate there this fall for Charles Henderson!
