Continuing with the Prepredzone defensive back rankings, this 2023 class is shaping out to be a talented one with impact players and great personality. In this list we have 19-11, the statistics given are from what they produced last season as juniors. Let’s get into in!

19. [player_tooltip player_id="258581" first="Deldric" last="Madison"] CB 5’11" 180lbs Duncanville
Deldric is a very physical man press corner that can take a reciever completely away by simply jamming him up at the line of scrimmage! Also playing wide receiver means Deldric has great ball skills and can put himself in the mind of the receiver he is covering. When grabbing interceptions Deldric is tough to bring down with the ball in his hands, his field awareness is impressive, finding open space and getting there quickly!
18. [player_tooltip player_id="258580" first="Tayshawn" last="Wilson"] CB 5’10" 170lbs Mayde Creek
Wilson plays with great technique and reaction ability in off man coverage, keeping to the receivers hip post-snap and making it extremely difficult to create separation. Being a track star, Wilson has the speed to keep up with anyone, good luck getting behind this prospect. Wilson currently has offers from Houston , UT and Baylor.
17. [player_tooltip player_id="258579" first="Calvin" last="Simpson-Hunt"] CB 6’ 185lbs Waxahachie
Calvin is best when working in press man coverage but also excels at cover 3 when playing in zone. When thrown his way, Calvin is very active on the football, challenging every attempt with swats and knockouts, making it a tighter window to put the ball through. Calvin is a good tackler, looking to the boom anytime he is given the opportunity!
16. [player_tooltip player_id="258578" first="Daniel" last="Demery"] FS 6’1" 195lbs Parish Episcopal
70 total tackles 40 solo 5 TFL 10 PBU 5 int 3 defensive touchdowns
Demery is a deep cover 1/cover3 safety that has sideline to sideline speed to take away anything deep. This is a ball hawk at safety, always seems to be in the mix when the ball is thrown, having 10 pass breakups and 5 interceptions! With 2 interceptions being taken back for touchdowns, Demery is a difference maker that will receive alot of attention from D1 school his senior season!
15. [player_tooltip player_id="258577" first="Jayven" last="Anderson"] SS 6’1" 190lbs North Shore
[player_tooltip player_id="258577" first="Jayven" last="Anderson"] is a 1x State champion and has plenty of D1 offers coming his way. Jayven is a physical safety that anyone would enjoy having as their last line of defense. In coverage he is just as physical while playing in man, being able to lock up tight ends as well as slot receivers. Coming from a program that is always developing great prospects year after year, Jayven has shown to be coached very well and still has a another year to get even better than he already is.
14. [player_tooltip player_id="60884" first="Abdul" last="Muhammad"] S/Nickle 5’10" 180lbs South Oak Cliff
102 tackles 3 TFL 2 int 5 PBU 2 FR
Abdul is quite the playmaker, this is a defensive player but when you watch his film somehow he always has the ball in his hands, whether that be through an interception or a fumble recovery! This is a baller, Abdul can lineup at either safety or nickle and play both at a high level! He shuts down slot receivers in man coverage, reading their every move and cutting them off to get in better position for the ball! Abdul is an aggressive tackler in the run game and sheds blocks on his way to the ball carrier. Currently being recruited by many Power 5 schools, Jaylon is going to be a highly sought after prospect!
13. [player_tooltip player_id="136195" first="Jaylon" last="Braxton"] CB 6’ 170lbs Frisco Lonestar
Jaylon is a smart player with great read and reaction abilities, he is often seen blowing up screen plays behind the line of scrimmage. Watching his film you see that he is well polished on his coverage skills, doubling at wide receiver helps Jaylon understand the position and get into the mind of a receiver. He is constantly making plays on the ball by putting himself in even better position than the intended receiver! This is a playmaker that needs to be accounted for on every play, because one false move and he will make you pay! Currently being recruited by many Power 5 schools, Jaylon is a highly sought after 2023 prospect!
12. [player_tooltip player_id="136194" first="Micah" last="Bell"] CB 5’11" 160lbs Houston Kinkaid
Let me just start off by saying Bell has the best return ability than anyone I’ve scouted sofar on this 1-35 list. He has much film that proves that statement when he is returning but also when he plays runningback. Bell has great vision on the field and his burst is unmatchable, a great athlete and football player! His coverage abilities in man coverage are sticky, getting his head around to find the ball to either swat it away or grab it out of the air himself. Bell is swimming in D1 offers, for sure getting the recognition he deserves!
11. [player_tooltip player_id="60879" first="Brenden" last="Jordan"] S 6’ 185lbs Mansfield
Jordan is a physical saftey that takes perfect angles straight to the football! A great tackler, when he has you in his grasp the play ends there. He has good range in deep cover 3, not letting anything get behind him, staying in perfect position to keep his zone under control. Brenden is currently committed to Texas Tech, giving the Red Raiders a steal at safety for 2023.
