If selecting and putting together the best offensive and defensive lineup in the state of Oregon for the 2024 class, these are the 15 individuals I would have listed on each side of the ball. Athletes will only be listed on O or D. Have a look..
QB [player_tooltip player_id="152354" first="Cru" last="Newman"] 6-0 170 Central Catholic- Newman had one of the most impressive seasons from a Sophomore QB within Oregon in some time. His ability to lead from young age is rare, helping the Rams to another state title while throwing 37 TDs/4 INTs. Add to this his elusiveness in the pocket and you have a special leader at CC.
QB [player_tooltip player_id="152328" first="TC" last="Manumaleuna II"] 6-0 190 North Salem- The kid out of North does get somewhat underappreciated playing in a Wing T offense. That said as he has proven himself on the camp circuit against some of the nation's best. The Vikings have a real shot for maybe the first time in school history.
RB [player_tooltip player_id="152363" first="Nolen" last="Scott"] 6-1 175 Sherwood- One of the fastest rising prospects in the entire state in my opinion. There is very little he can't do, potentially being the most versatile kid in Oregon. Look for him to torch athletes in the Pacific Conference, after going for 1,519 total yards and 10 TDs this past season.
RB [player_tooltip player_id="152333" first="Lonnie" last="Burt"] 6-1 190 Jesuit- Burt Jr. didn't get a ton of time, splitting carries with two other backs who rank towards the top of the charts for their respective classes. 6-3 190 23' RB [player_tooltip player_id="205822" first="Payton" last="Roth"] will return, but look for Lonnie to be one of the state's breakout performers, and a projected 1st team all-metro kid on both sides of the football.
WR [player_tooltip player_id="152356" first="Joey" last="Olsen"] 6-5 200 Lakeridge-When it comes to Olsen the offers speak for themselves. Expect an unreal Jr. campaign, with one of the region's top QB's [player_tooltip player_id="110242" first="Ryan" last="Oliver"] and another one of the state's top WR's [player_tooltip player_id="110204" first="Baylor" last="Corbin"], making it almost impossible to double team or focus solely on him.
WR [player_tooltip player_id="152339" first="Jayden" last="Fortier"] 6-5 205 Tualatin-Fortier has had an unreal off season on the 7v7 circuit thus far, excelling against some of the top competition in the region, after being plagued by injuries the last few seasons. Look for him to rank as one of the top WR/TE's in the West.
ATH [player_tooltip player_id="207256" first="Tyler" last="Konold"] 5-11 185 Canby- The 5A 1st team all-state RB went off as a Sophomore rushing for 1400 yards and 7 yards per carry. Look for him to be a conference and state POY favorite on the offensive side of the ball.
TE [player_tooltip player_id="152358" first="AJ" last="Pugliano"] 6-4 220 North Medford- Look for most of the PAC 12 and others to offer before all is said and done as Pugliano's stock continues to rise. Expect a big junior season after receiving 2nd team and honorable mention all-conference honors as a Sophomore.
TE [player_tooltip player_id="278368" first="Charlie" last="Crowell"] 6-5 215 Summit- You can expect Crowell to be dominant the next few seasons, especially against 5A competition. Even with a double team he will be tough to contain as his size and athleticism will pose serious problems for opponents.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="278369" first="Devin" last="Brooks"] 6-4 300 Clackamas- Maybe the top lineman in Oregon. Watch his film and you see a kid who is incredibly fluid. His 1st team all Mt Hood accolades speak to the respect he had from the coaches within the conference.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="206872" first="Stephen" last="Del Giudice"] 6-4 250 Grant- One of the most athletic and versatile lineman in Oregon, starting as a freshman, and earning 1st team all-conference honors on both sides of the football as a Sophomore.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="206860" first="Terrell" last="Kim"] 6-4 315 North Medford- Kim continues to up his stock and will be a multi offer D1 athlete. He has helped put himself on the map this off season with impressive performances on the camp circuit, after earning 1st team all SWC honors as a Sophomore.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="291229" first="Sam" last="Keen"] 6-4 270 Marist- Potentially the top lineman in his conference as a Sophomore. His film speaks for itself. Look for Keen to be a 1st team all-state guy the next two seasons.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="278375" first="Malcolm" last="I'aulualo"] 6-3 250 Hood River- It's unknown whether or not I'aulualo can be compared to maybe the best player ever to come out of Hood River in Henry Buckles, now at Oregon St. That said as his 1st team all-conference honors speak to his potential.
C [player_tooltip player_id="278386" first="Chris" last="Azari"] 6-1 270 Lakeridge- Not a lot of people know about Azari as he's somewhat undersized. That said as his TRL all conference accolades as a Sophomore speak to his upside as one of the top centers in Oregon .
