The Heart of it All, Ohio!

The buckeye state is always full of talent, and new prospects emerge daily. One of the best things about Ohio is that you can travel the state and find competitors working out in soccer facilities in every region getting after it. The offseason for football is nine months long but a critical time for prospects to work on their craft and develop their bodies and skillsets. Some of the student-athletes on this edition can be labeled hidden gems but not for long; college camp season is coming, and they have been working. When scouting Ohio prospects, you can bet that you will always find out that there is some serious competition around the state. Here's the scoop.

[player_tooltip player_id="241166" first="Will" last="Ostrowski"] c/o 2024 - Westlake

Position: ATH
5'8 175 lbs
Notes:
Will is a crafty runner with the ability to help his team in many ways. Vision is the first key trait that I see out of Ostrowski's game; he can diagnose a play on the move, which is exceptional. Another part of Will's game that I like is his versatility; he returns kicks, plays good coverage, and is a playmaker on offense. Ostrowski is currently flying under the radar but will soon breakout once college camp season starts, Will has good grades to match his skills. Quickness and IQ are on the top of this list of what this prospect does best. See the film below.

[player_tooltip player_id='395568' first='Matthew' last='Stuewe'] c/o 2023 - Avon Lake

Position: WR
6'3 190 lbs
Notes:
Stuewe season was cut to only seven games last season due to injury but still left a lasting impression on his team and opponents. If you want to get a player to stretch the field, then "STU" is your guy. 50/50 balls typically land in his hands, and Matthew knows how to use his size and leverage. Last season Stuewe averaged 14 yards per catch and on 35 targets. Avon Lake will look to count on this prospect to make strides this off-season as he has all state talent. His father, Michael, played at Virginia Tech as a walk-on and saw plenty of success on the field. The gene pool is their folks; watch out for Stuewe in 2022.

Chase Woodruff c/o 2024 - McComb

Position: ATH
5'11 170 lbs
Notes:
Chase is a talented young football player who has a chance to be very special at McComb over the next two seasons. Chase has come to the 419 football club over the past couple of months, and his quickness and football savviness showed immediately. Woodruff started as a QB and was not a bad one; if injuries occur, you could see him under the center. Chase will primarily play WR in 2022,,,, and his route running ability is above average. With long speed being his focus this offseason, you can expect to see Chase explode on the scene this fall. All-State talent, IMO.
* Chase was injured for most of the 2021 season, so I will post his freshman film from the 2020 season. *

[player_tooltip player_id='354541' first='Ashton' last='Yeager'] c/o 2025 - Findlay

Position: DE
6'2 215 lbs
Notes:
Yeager is another interesting prospect out of the second biggest city in Northwest Ohio, Findlay! What really strikes you is his size and ability to hold his own in a powerful Three Rivers Athletic Conference as a freshman! Toughness is something that is evident about Ashton and his nose for the ball is always on high alert. Having [player_tooltip player_id="34499" first="Luke" last="Montgomery"] as a teammate and as a companion on the DL for his sophomore year can really help Yeargers visibility to college coaches. Ashton will be a premier player in NWO over the next few years and causing headaches for many offensive coordinators.

D'Juan Waller Jr c/o 2023 - Chaney

Position: ATH
6'3 190 lbs
Notes:
Big frame and athletic prospect out of Youngstown that has been on but off the radar, let me explain. Floating through Twitter I happen to stumble upon Waller Jr's page and find out he has been holding back his offer from Twitter because he didn't have one. D'Juan film shows a player who has a natural instinct for football and does whatever it takes to go get the ball while it's in the air. Good lateral quick on his release moves and a couple of videos posted to his Twitter page of him being explosive during the off-season. This is a new prospect to PRZ and we will continue to give you the latest on up and comers in Ohio. Waller could end up seeing P5 offers due to his size and upside to his playing ability.
