Today, we looked at a talented group of 2023 quarterbacks out of the empire state. However, we wanted to break it down a bit further and decided to analyze the best signal-callers without a single scholarship offer. These guys have plenty of ability on the field and proved that during the 2021 season, but have yet to see their recruitment take that next step. Look for them to continue to improve this off-season and soon catch the eye of college recruiters.

Matt Fitzsimons, 6’5", 180, Somers
A long QB prospect with a tight windup and smooth footwork in the pocket. Matt has outstanding touch on his vertical ball and will drop it right into the breadbasket. Although he’s not a true dual-threat, he has displayed an innate ability to ad-lib when the pocket breaks down and can pick up yards with his feet.

[player_tooltip player_id="241877" first="Dante" last="Torres"], 6’3", 185, St. Anthony’s
You’re looking at a patient passer who will calmly move back and forth laterally to buy himself time. He’s an elusive runner in the open and can make defenders look silly with his shake. Torres has a strong arm, doesn’t get rattled against the blitz, and uses explosive hips to drive the football downfield.

[player_tooltip player_id="229221" first="Trey" last="Drake"], 6’3", 195, Jamestown
A confident pocket-passer who knows when to expedite his release and will deliver a tight spiral. Drake can take a little something off his throws and place the ball over second-level defenders. He has an awfully quick set-up but also has the arm & accuracy to make throws off-platform when the time calls for it.
