In this list, there are several two-way players that can get the job done all across the field.
Maverick Schippmann | 2024 | 5’10 210 | ATH | South Forsyth
Schippmann, an All-Region performer in 2021, is actually a prospect I have gotten eyes on before. After analyzing his film for a second time, there are a variety of things that stand out. Schippmann happens to be a two-way player who spends the majority of his time at the RB and LB position. He is a physical, downhill player that doesn’t shy away from contact. He also possesses a very impressive frame with some nice speed to go with it. At RB, he has excellent vision and can fight through contact to pick up extra yards. He can also flex out at WR and make plays in the passing game as well. At LB, he is excellent at blitzing from the interior and can run sideline to sideline with ease. To go along with that, his physical presence in the gaps makes him a force when defending the run game. All in all, Schippmann is a complete package of a player who still has plenty of time to grow and get even better. Make sure you keep some tabs on him.
Zeke Clanton Zeke Clanton 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Lanier Christian Academy | 2025 GA | 2025 | 5’6 152 | RB | Lanier Chrisitan
Clanton is the definition of underrated. For starters, he sits on the shorter side of things for RBs, even though he plays much bigger. Also, he plays for a private 8 on 8 football team. Regardless of the limitations, Clanton is a bonafide playmaker who did nothing but terrorize defenses as a youngster. On the year, Clanton put together a whopping 1500 yards on the ground and added 26 TDs. He did this by being so much faster and quicker than the rest of the competition. He possesses the elite ability to change directions with ease and make people miss with his twitchiness. As a smaller back, he also has a lower center of gravity, which means he can pack a punch at the point of contact as well. Clanton is what Prep Redzone is all about. Covering prospects that deserve coverage despite other factors. Clanton is definitely an intriguing prospect that I will be following over the next four seasons.
Jeremiah Sandiford Jeremiah Sandiford 6'1" | 245 lbs | LB Miller Grove | 2023 GA | 2023 | 6’2 255 | DL | Miller Grove
Sandiford is the first defensive lineman that we will cover this month, and it is a good way to start. When I turned on the tape, the first thing you immediately notice is how physical and aggressive Sandiford is. He uses his hands to get blockers off him and toss defenders to the side to make plays. His first step explosion also allows him to create instant penetration. In short, Sandiford is a physical specimen that overwhelms the opposition with his aggressiveness. To go along with that, he is also incredibly explosive and can move extremely well. This allows him to shoot into the backfield to rush the passer and wreak havoc behind the line of scrimmage. Spends most of his time on the interior of the DL, but has also shown promise on the edge. From the DE spot, he has shown some nice bend and that added speed makes it all the easier to rush the passer. Sandiford is coming off a huge Junior season and has yet to reach his full potential. All in all, Sandiford will be an intriguing prospect to watch during his senior season.
Sam Connell | 2024 | 6’1 165 | ATH | Augusta Prep
Before you even turn on the film, there is one thing that you notice immediately about Connell. His frame. Connell possesses that long frame that numerous colleges desire when it comes to their defensive backs, especially at CB. He spends some time lining up on offense, but there is reason to believe his future is at defensive back. That long build allows him to be efficient in press coverage and makes it easier to be disruptive in traffic. When you turn on the film, he is exactly that. Numerous times on film you can see him use his long arms to reach in and knock balls away. Where he really stands out is how he performs as a tackler. Is a fundamentally sound tackler who has the ability to make big hits on ball carriers. He breaks on the ball quickly and efficiently, which allows him to create momentum downhill and make big hits on opposing players. Connell is still young, but he has the frame and fundamentals to develop into an intriguing prospect in the state.
Corey Richie | 2023 | 6’0 165 | ATH | Stephens County
Richie is another highly athletic and productive two-way player that does some damage at WR and DB. For starters, he is blessed with elite explosiveness and speed. On offense, that allows him to get off the line quickly and get into the second level with ease. His speed also gives the offense the ability to take the top off the defense. Defensively, this means he can turn and run with anyone he matches up against. He is also blessed with elite ball skills, which translates to both sides of the ball. Not a super big player, but he has enough size and plays with enough physicality to go up and consistently win 50-50 balls. While he is a standout on both sides of the ball, I personally project him long-term at receiver. Why? He is one of the better route runners you will see on film. Is a fluid runner with lighting fast feet that make him almost impossible to guard. When you add together his route running ability with his explosiveness and physicality, he has all the tools to be a very dangerous receiver at the next level.
