A smaller, explosive back who runs with authority, this small-town back may not play against the best competition, but he ran wild through defenses on a weekly basis this fall as a senior. The quick, twitchy back can score anytime he has the ball and has the ability to run through defenders as well as run by them. He took off for an impressive 1,436 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging a strong 130 yards per game. Now, he’s ranked as the No. 352 overall prospect in the state.

Clanton’s best usage appears to come on run plays designed to attack the edges of the defense. This is where Clanton can use his speed to attack the outside and has shown multiple times the ability to turn the corner and outrun defenders to pick up significant yardage. Clanton has a long stride and appears to effortlessly outrun defenders at times. Clanton has a slashing, one-cut type of running style that could be an effective tempo switch-up.rn
