Some of these guys already have college-ready frames with numerous offers, and others are still waiting to fully hit their stride on the high school scene. Here, we enter the film room as we set out to find some Georgia prospects that have yet to reach their max potential.
QB | Prentiss Noland Prentiss Noland 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Langston Hughes | 2024 State GA – 6’3 190 – Langston Hughes
Noland is by no means some under-the-radar prospect that you have never heard of. In fact, he is widely considered as one of the best 2024 QBs in Georgia, but he has a chance to become one of the best in the country as well. On film, you will see one of the quickest and most concise deliveries you have seen. Noland can make all the throws and make them off-platform and is nothing short of masterful in the quick game. Last season, as a Sophomore, Noland completed 64% of his passes for just under 2600 yards and added 34 TDs to just 7 INTs. As a younger player, he is already one of the most productive players in the state. So, how can Noland continue to grow and reach his max potential? For one, he has a tall and skinny build. Once he grows into that frame, which should happen naturally, he will only continue to add more arm strength and become a force in the running game. Noland is already an elite QB prospect, but with added physical growth, he has a chance to be a special player at the next level.
QB | Gavin Hall Gavin Hall 5'10" | 190 lbs | QB Gainesville | 2024 State GA – 5’10 180 – Hebron Christian
Hall might be a name that is new to you, but he is someone Prep Redzone has been tracking for a while and is set to take off on the recruiting trail with a big Junior season. When you turn on the film, you immediately notice that Hall is a massive threat in the run game, and the numbers back that up as well. On the year, Hall finished with 1114 yards on the ground on 6.9 yards per carry. He also found the endzone 4 times. While his passing numbers aren’t as polarizing, he has flashed his passing ability in the camp circuit this offseason. In January, he was one of our top performers at the Georgia Prep Redzone Showcase. You can also see his ability to throw on the run and off-platform on film. We know what Hall can do on the ground, but he has yet to fully show what he brings to the table on Friday nights. Last season, Hebron Christian ran a wishbone-style offense. This year, former ELCA HC Jonathan Gess comes in and should bring an offense that will allow Hall to show what he is fully capable of. In short, Hall is an athletic freak that has yet to tie everything together. If he can do that, there is a good chance he will put himself on the radar.
WR | Kyle Vaka – 6’1 165 – Johns Creek
Vaka is a 2024 receiver that has already impressed plenty of people, and he has yet to even scratch the surface. Last season, the speedy sophomore put up pedestrian numbers on the varsity level, but he is set to break out in a big way this upcoming season. On film, you will immediately notice that Vaka is an elite route runner with game-breaking speed. Off the snap, Vaka is super explosive and makes quick cuts to separate himself from the defender. At 6’1 165, Vaka has an impressive frame for a receiver but has yet to start filling out that frame. Once Vaka adds some more weight and becomes a more physical prescience at receiver, he will absolutely be someone you need to watch on the recruiting trail. If he can add that weight without sacrificing any speed or explosiveness, then you are looking at a complete WR prospect.
CB | Tyjai Hopper – 6’1 175 – Alpharetta
If you don’t know the name, I would keep some tabs on Hopper, because he is a recruit that is about to blow up on the recruiting trail. He already has one offer from Akron, but has made stops at a few SEC schools recently as well. When you turn on the tape, it is clear to see why he is on the radar for so many schools. At 6’1 175 with nice length, Hopper certainly passes the eye test. That length allows him to press receivers on the line and be a rangey prospect with long strides. Hopper is also an extremely physical defender that is able to come downfield and make plays on the ball carrier. To go along with his press coverage ability, Hopper can also back off or lineup at safety and break on the ball with ease as he has the speed to do so. Hopper is a prospect that has been trending up recently, and I expect that to continue.
