Players such as Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb, Geno Smith, and Kenyan Drake are recognized as notable alumni of the camp. On Sunday, some of the top youngsters in the state gathered for a day of fierce competition. Here are 6 guys that caught our attention.
Peyton Joseph – 2025 – OL – Peach County
Joseph traveled over 2 and a half hours north to compete in this event and came away with a very impressive showing. The first thing you notice is his size. Joseph is nearly 300 pounds and carries no bad weight. He has a strong lower body which allows him to push defenders out of the play, which he did all day. He is also able to move extremely well and matchup against faster defenders on the edge. Where Joseph really separated himself was the 1 on 1 part of the camp. He showed great fundamentals and physicality, but he was also an extremely competitive and violent player who made some eye-popping plays throughout the event. There were numerous instances where Joseph’s opponent ended up on the ground in a very short amount of time. Joseph played with something to prove all afternoon, and he put himself on the radar with a big-time outing.
Mason Short – 2025 -OL – Evans
Short was one of the more well-known prospects coming into the camp, and for good reason. Standing at roughly 6’7, Short is about as physically impressive as you can be for a freshman. He has also already picked up some momentum on the trail, recently adding a Big Ten offer from Minnesota. Short showed off some excellent footwork in the individual drills, as well as some impressive explosiveness and twitchiness for his size. When it came time for the 1 on 1 section of the camp, he did an excellent job of using his length to his advantage. He was also an overall very physical player. Short had a lot of expectations on him headed into the camp, and he certainly lived up to them.
Mal Waldrep – OL – 2025 – Brookstone School
Waldrep rounded out what was a very impressive group of 2025 offensive linemen. As the event went on, he continued to improve with each rep and showed flashes of consistency. He was yet another prospect with impressive size, standing at around 6’4 270. Waldrep showed some nice footwork and fundamentals in the competition part of the camp, as well as a nice punch. He might not be the most polarizing prospect, but he showed tons of consistency. There wasn’t anything that he struggled to comprehend, and he came away as one of the more impactful players on the offensive line. Joseph, Short, and Waldrep all improved their stock greatly today.
Mason Townsend Mason Townsend 6'3" | 270 lbs | OL Prince Avenue Christian | 2026 State GA – OL – 2026 – Prince Avenue Christian
Townsend might have been smaller and younger than most of the other players on the offensive line, but he had arguably the most impressive showing during the 1 on 1’s. Townsend is just a rising 9th grader, so he will add some size naturally, but even without the size, he showed off some excellent technique and footwork. Townsend did a nice job of mirroring defenders and keeping everything in front of him. When defenders did try to get around him, he was physical enough to put his foot in the ground and push them out of the play. Townsend has impressed at camps for the better part of a year now, so he is a name to know as soon as he hits the high school ranks this fall.
Andre Fuller Andre Fuller 6'2" | 200 lbs | DL Grayson | 2025 State GA Jr – DL – 2025 – Grayson
Fuller caught my eye during the individual drills thanks to his explosiveness and effort. He showcased a rare combination of size and speed that was pleasing to watch. As the event progressed, that explosiveness carried over throughout each different section of the camp. At the point of attack, Fuller has some very active hands which prevent offensive linemen from locking him up. He also has some nice bend coming off the edge. During a real game setting, you can tell that his speed and explosiveness make him a real dangerous threat to rush the passer off the edge. Thanks to his high effort, Fuller put his name on the radar.
Gavin Askew – DL – 2025 – Hillgrove
Askew was physically one of the most impressive prospects at the event. His combination of size and speed is what colleges crave, especially in defensive linemen. To go along with that, Askew was one of the most fierce competitors at the event and garnered plenty of attention in 1 on 1’s. For starters, Askew is extremely explosive off the edge and uses his hands nicely as well. He also showcased a nice swim move at times and some bend coming off the edge. Askew is a fundamentally sound player, but he makes more of an impact by playing much harder than everyone else. After the showing he had, Askew set himself up for some exposure in the future.
