I cannot express enough how much talent is located in Houston and the surrounding areas. It is a gold mine of talented athletes who can ALL impact a game in different ways. Here we have a few extra names for the receivers in the area who have displayed excellent skills on the field as sophomores and who all will be regular names you will soon see!
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Luke Rives - Stratford</strong></span></em></span>
Rives was a thousand yard receiver and played a big role in the Spartan offense as a sophomore. Good size with great hands and speed, Rives was a deep threat target who made big plays for the offense. He took advantage of one on one matchups with his speed and usually was able to get a step on the defensive back. Any post or go route was in Rives favor and he made sure not to disappoint. Rives finished his impressive sophomore season with 1,021 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns on 39 catches.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Jabari Bush - St. John XXIII</strong></span></em></span>
Bush shows tremendous upside with his size and long strides at the receiver position. He is strong out of his breaks and shows very good agility. He is a two way player at times but on the offensive side he has the skills to change the outcome of the game. He is strong after the catch and can do major damage in the redzone, especially one on one. Keep an eye out for him.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147467" first="Oscar" last="Nnanna"] - Bridgeland</strong></span></em></span>
Nnanna’s speed coming out of his routes and making cuts are impressive for a player only in his second year. He proved to be a great weapon for the Bridgeland offense and in space looked like a true playmaker. He can go up and snatch the ball on high throws or just beat you by crossing your face and leaving you in the dust. Nnanna showed that he was not afraid of any moment and threw some strong blocks for his teammates as well! He will have a bigger role next season and expect him to taken advantage of the moment.

<span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><em><strong>Owen Carter - Cy Fair</strong></em></span>
Carter shows versatility to be an inside or outside receiver, having the skills and agility to be a deep threat or run the intermediate route and gain good yards for the offense. He has a good build to him and is a confident catcher. Carter shows good top end speed and that he is not only a reliable target, but a physical blocker as well. Carter constantly found ways to get behind a defense and made them pay. He shows much potential and will be a name to remember for the coming years.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Jelani Watkins - Klein Forest</strong></span></em></span>
Watkins is a special, very talented player who will most definitely be a name to remember. The wiggle, shiftiness, and overall speed and quickness. Watkins is a playmaker who is next up for the Eagles. Out of the slot he is a mismatch. It is a challenge for anybody to stay with him and when the ball is in his hands, he has the ability to break down defenders and gain those extra yards. Watkins future is very bright and the more he works on his game the more dangerous he will be.
