We received over one hundred replies covering a range of different graduation years and position groups. There was plenty of talent on display, and we wanted to shout out some of the top names in a variety of different articles. So, without further adieu, here were some of the top defenders that sent us their film from the state of Indiana.
LB: Nylan Brown Nylan Brown 6'0" | 230 lbs | LB Ben Davis | 2024 State IN , 6’, 225, Ben Davis, 2024
A thumper with a quick trigger once he reads run. Brown calmly scrapes down the line of scrimmage, ensuring he takes proper angles to the football. He can play walked up to the line of scrimmage and can dominate linemen at the point of attack. This is someone who easily slips blocks at the second level and is as sure of a tackler as you’re gonna find.
DE: Da’Shon Stewart, 6’2″, 220, Evansville Central, 2023
Stewart’s motor is always going; you pair that with a bendy frame, and you got an intriguing pass rusher. On tape, he slips blocks through the b gap and can create instant penetration on downhill runs. He’s an intelligent player who won’t run up the field on screens and will sniff them out instantly. He’s a well-trained hand fighter who will catch tackles lunging and effortlessly swipe away their hands.
LB: Bradley Gibson Bradley Gibson 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Hobart | 2024 State IN , 6’1″, 190, Hobart, 2024
A steady open-field tackler with noticeable quickness. Gibson is a tough man to block in space and uses sheer burst to evade opposing offensive linemen. He’s already a standout special teamer who will force you to try and double team him on kick-off coverage. Look for him to add some weight this off-season and put together a fantastic junior campaign.
OLB: MJ Campbell, 6’, 210, Perry Meridian, 2024
The first thing that jumped out to me on film was Campbell’s first step. His speed and straight-line quickness give opposing offensive linemen fits in pass protection. He plays like the energizer bunny and is constantly chasing plays down from behind. He has no hesitations taking on pullers, will lower his shoulder, set up his anchor, and keep his outside arm free. Right now, he plays a lot as a head-up four technique; however, based on his size, I think he’ll kick outside as a 3-4 stand-up edge player at the next level.
DT: Noah Miller, 6’3″, 245, Hobart, 2023
A tough interior defensive line prospect that is willing to do the dirty work in the run game. He shows good knee bend and a certain suddenness that is hard to find in a man his size. He has plenty of play strength and will bully linemen on the inside. Miller times up his twists well and will stay tight when wrapping around, frequently leading to him coming scot-free.
