Continue ReadingThe 2023 class might be on the clock, but it’s never too early to take a look at the 2024 class as well. It appears to be a very deep class in the peach state, and we’re seeing new 2024 prospects start to make a name for themselves.
Here are a few 2024 wide receivers that are seeing their stock rise…
BJ Gibson – Wilcox County
One of the top young receivers in South Georgia, Gibson is a two-sport star who is currently committed to play baseball at Tennessee. He’s a dynamic athlete at wide receiver who can torch a defense with his speed, athleticism, and ability to run routes down the field. He creates separation with ease and is really quick in and out of his breaks. He’s a natural runner with a knack for getting behind defenses. He’s a playmaker on special teams with the ability to take back punts and kickoffs back for a big gain. He’s a true weapon whenever he’s on the field, and he’s starting to see his recruitment take off. He’s earned recent offers from Georgia and Texas A&M with more likely on the way.
Sacovie White – Cass
One of the top 2024 two-way players in North Georgia, White showed big-play ability and enough speed to get behind defenses. At 5-foot-10 165-pounds, White is agile, quick, and proved that he’s one of the top young pass catchers in the 2024 class. He was excellent in the Georgia Elite Classic game back in December, catching five passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. He’s dangerous with the ball in his hands, plays bigger than his size, and knows how to break tackles. He can change directions well, and he’s an excellent open field runner when he has space. He’s got some explosiveness to his game, and he has a chance to take his game to the next level in 2022. He’ll be an under the radar junior to know about next fall.
Caleb Odom – Villa Rica
A two-sport star from West Georgia who dominates both on the basketball court and on the gridiron, Odom is a big-bodies receiver at 6-foot-5 205-pounds who excels in jump-ball situations. He’s a big weapon in the redzone and does a nice job of catching the ball at it’s highest point. He uses his size and length to his advantage and can dominate older defenders who happen to be smaller than he is. Like most young receivers, he can still develop and work on his overall route-running, but he had great hands and knows how to come down with the football. He’s a long strider who can pick up big yards in a hurry. He doesn’t look like your average sophomore receiver, and it’s led to early offers from Ole Miss and Auburn. With his size and big-play potential in the redzone, look for more offers to come his way this spring.
Keshawn Weathers – Towers
A impressive two-way athlete, the Decatur native from metro-Atlanta has had a breakout sophomore season this fall, making giant plays on both sides of the ball. Always one of the top athletes on the field, Weathers is a quick, twitchy 6-foot-0 170-pounder with big-play ability. During the regular season, Weathers was his best as a pass catcher as he hauled in 57 balls for 831 yards and 4 touchdowns. He’s also added 155 rushing yards and one more touchdown. He’s also an excellent, physical defensive back on defense. He shows quick feet, great ball skills, and could see some college interest come his way this offseason. He has some of the best ball skills in the are and led his region in receiving. He was also 2nd in Class AA in receiving. Defensively, he made 4 INTs and broke up 8 more passes.
