There is something for everyone in this position group. Change of pace backs, power backs, backs that can play every down. It is all here. Let’s get into it!
Elijah Gray Elijah Gray 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Middleton | 2022 State WI , 5’10″ 180- Middleton (Senior Highlights)
I believe Elijah is the best RB still available here in Wisconsin. The RB is more than just a ball carrier, though. His top traits also have made him a dangerous return man. Having that special teams impact only increases his value to the next level. Those traits that make him such a dangerous returner and ball carrier are his instincts, ability to make defenders miss, and his playmaking ability. Elijah’s ability to run to daylight, run without hesitation, see cut back laens, and create something out of nothing make him so dangerous. His suddenness and change of direction allow him to beat the first tackler, and he makes the unusual plays that impacts the outcome of the game on a weekly basis. He will be able to do that at the next level as well. Currently, Gray has offer from Northern Michigan, and Winona State.
Gus Theisen Gus Theisen 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB Eau Claire Regis | 2022 State WI , 5’10″ 200- Regis (Senior Highlights)
Gus is a thick, compact ball carrier who spent his senior season proving he can be used on every down at the next level. He was able to run with success between the tackles and outside the box as well as be a legitimate threat as a receiver out of the backfield. As a receiver, Gus quickly locates the ball in the air, adjusts accordingly, and naturally plucks the ball out of the air. Theisen is a rugged player who plays behind his pads well. He pairs that tough running with the speed to be able to make big plays at the next level. Gus has been clocked running a 4.50 and it translates to the field where he is able to pull away from defenders in the open field. Gus’ three down ability should excite coaches, but he has slipped under the radar. That has to change He currentl holds one offer from MSU- Moorhead.
Jack Genzmer Jack Genzmer 5'11" | 215 lbs | RB Ozaukee | 2022 State WI , 5’11″ 215- Ozaukee (Senior Highlights)
The top big back still available is the power back out of Ozaukee. The name of the game for Jack is power and yards, and ruggedness. Genzmer runs hard behind his pads. He absorbs contact without giving ground. He play with a strong disposition. Jack runs his feet through tacklers. Jack clearly has a strong base that allow him to break those tackles and slip off others. Genzmer has the stamina to play with that strength and impact even into the 4th quarter. If you need a tone setter this is the best one still out on the market. Check him out! It doesn’t look like he has any offers, yet.
Carson Holman Carson Holman 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Muskego | 2022 State WI , 5’10″ 180- Muskego (Senior Highlights)
Carson is an exciting playmaker slipping under the radar. Muskego used him to his best potential as they allowed him to attack the edges with his vision and speed. Holman does a good job to set up blocks with his patience, finds cutback lanes quickly, and use his blockers before accelerating for big gains thanks to his open field, long speed. Carson also possesses return skills that should bump his value. It looks like Holman is still looking for offer #1, so college coaches check him out! Highlights are linked above!
Simon Bauer Simon Bauer RB Durand | 2022 WI , 5’7″ 180- Durand (Senior Highlights)
The leading rusher in the state is still looking for his next level home. He is an undersized prospect, but that hasn’t slowed him down as he carried a huge workload. Simon uses a next level burst and acceleration to fly through open running lanes between the tackles and out in space. Bauer is an impressive natural playmaker who was on another level compared to those around him. You don’t see kids stand out like he did this season. That’s why I’m surprised he is still available. He has all the tools to be a good change of pace back at the next level. Don’ miss out on the most productive back in the state.
