To do that we are going to start a series where I go through each position group and find 5-10 athletes that are still available and have the talent to play at the next level. We start it off with the signal callers. Let’s dive into the QBs!
Brock Grosinske Brock Grosinske 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Whitewater | 2022 State WI , 6’3″ 220 lbs- Whitewater (Senior Highlights)
Brock definitely takes the crown when you are going through and looking at the frames of all the remaining QBs. He has the height, and is thick throughout his body. That big frame translates to impressive arm strength. The ball launches out of his hand, and he has film showing that he doesn’t need to have his feet set to be able to use that power. He can utilize that power while rolling out to his dominant or non- dominant hand. I love how aggressive he is with his play too. Brock will attack downfield, and that big arm allows him to go at windows that most kids at this level can’t hit. It’s impressive watching his off platform and off rhythm plays. Not many kids can do what he does off script. More schools need to get on this kid. Currently, all his interest, and only offer, comes from the D3, hometown, powerhouse UW- Whitewater.
Sam Lagowski Sam Lagowski 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Green Bay Notre Dame | 2022 State WI , 6’3″ 190 lbs- Green Bay Notre Dame (Senior Highlights)
Sam is a tall, lean passer. He is one of the few signal callers who has several of his highlights starting with him under center. Lagowski has smooth, quick footwork that gets him solid depth in his drop. Notre Dame utilized him on a lot of roll outs that demonstrated his ability to be accurate on the run to every level of the field. Lagowski has a solid arm making it possible for him to stretch the field, but his main strength is his ability to pinpoint the ball with touch. Sam is poised in the pocket, and has no issue going through his progressions to find an open man. Lastly, Sam is a solid athlete who will be able to do some damage on the ground when forced to. I believe he is still looking for his first offer, so don’t miss out on the late steal.
Riley Warzynski Riley Warzynski 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Stevens Point | 2022 State WI , 6’3″ 210 lbs- Stevens Point (Senior Highlights)
The most saught- after remaining senior QB is the productive, talented QB out of Stevens Point. The senior has offers from Carroll, UW- Oshkosh, UW- Eau Claire, and Clarke University. There is a good reason for the high level of interest and offers too. Riley has the prototypical frame, and arm, that is able to generate the needed velocity to hit those tight, next level windows. The arm strength stands out on tape. Warzynski can put the ball on a frozen rope as he attacks short, intermediate, and deep targets. Hitting targets 35+ yards downfield without putting any air under the ball is not an issue for Riley. Yet, he understands when he has to put that air under it and drop it in a bucket. He has proven it on tape. His touch and accuracy are reliable whether he is in the pocket, outside the pocket, with his feet set, or on the move. I’m excited to see where Riley ends up. Bright future ahead for him wherever he goes.
Vito Massa, 6’2″ 200 lbs- River Falls (Senior Highlights)
Arguably the biggest steal among QBs is the River Falls signal caller. He finished the season as an All- Region QB who led his team to the Level Four playoffs. Vito is also a solid wrestler who has had a few visits of wrestling facilities. His only football offer, currently, is from UW- Eau Claire. That should change because Massa has the talent to play at the next level. He just needs more attention. The signal caller wins with his accuracy and touch over arm strength. Vito has shown impressive pinpoint, spot on accuracy while on the run and from the pocket. He puts the ball where only his guy can go get it. Massa is good under pressure as well. He can maneuver in the pocket while his guys get open an does it while staying calm with his eyes downfield. Check him out!
Emar Thomas Emar Thomas 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Madison Memorial | 2022 State WI , 6’ 210 lbs- Madison Memorial (Senior Highlights)
Emar is a kid I have wanted to keep an eye on. The senior just earned his first offer from Clarke University last week. I’m glad he has started seeing some interest because he has some solid tools to work with. Emar has a compact frame for the position, but it hasn’t effected his arm too drastically. Thomas has a quick release that transitions directly into solid velocity on his short to intermediate pass attempts. Emar is also an effective athlete with quick feet that make him dangerous inside the pocket and out. The senior is worth a quick look. He is one of the best remaining seniors at the position.
