Last Sunday I made my way out to Sports Academy in Frisco, TX to check out Coach Hooks’ SkysTheLimitWR WR/QB Clinic. This event was loaded with talent with a great turnout. Earlier this week we brought you part 1 of our standouts from the event, this is part 2 of more standouts.
William Hammonds – 2024 QB – Hutto, TX (Hutto) – 6’2″/185 –
Twitter Handle – @Will_Hammond13
Hammonds was an attention grabber at the event for different reasons. Mind you, wide receivers were running routes vs air so there were no defensive backs to make a play on the ball. However, the 2024 signal caller stood out with the accuracy and velocity he consistently showed rep after rep. The ball jumped out of his hand and got on its target in a hurry with how he can drive the football. He displayed solid hip torque when transitioning his weight into his over the top delivery and threw a nice, pretty ball all afternoon. He also seemed to be working on staying strict/consistent with his plant/swing foot and making sure to ground it in his follow through as you would see him constantly hold that textbook final position. Seeing and speaking to him up close, could see his listed size is legit, and mind you he’s not even done with his sophomore year.
Checking out his film after this camp was an eye opener as well because not only can he make all the throws inside and outside the pocket with the arm strength he has but the speed he shows as a runner also jumps out at you. A legit dual threat. Accurate on all three levels and can make touch throws as well. Shows he will stare down the barrel of a closing defender in the pocket and take a hit while delivering an accurate ball. Flashes the ability to climb the ladder and stay a passer or take off if needed. Just a lot to like on his film. Last year he threw for 1700 yards with 17-touchdown to 5-interceptions and added 419-yards rushing and 8 more touchdowns. Actually surprised he hasn’t received an offer yet, but fully expect that to change soon as this kid is a no brainer Power 5 talent.
The California transfer was one of the first prospects in attendance to stand out to me. Talk about explosive with impressive body control and some quick feet that stood out early on in route drills. And as I continued to watch the more impressed I was as Stebbing was one of the better route runners I saw on the day with elite ball skills. Extremely smooth but also explosive in/out of his breaks and polished. Even though I didn’t get to see him fully open up the speed he has, you could tell this young man can go. With his size though, speed, explosiveness and agility it also leads you to think he may be better suited as a defensive back.
Kegan Stelmazewski – 2024 WR – Denton, TX (Denton Guyer) – 6’2″/180 –
Twitter Handle – @Keganstel15
At his size, Stelmazewski should not move the way he does. Talk about having the quickness of a slot type receiver but in a solidly built, 6’2’/180 pound body. And honestly looks bigger than that. Showed the quickness off the line and the explosiveness and fluidity in and out of his breaks that made him an easy standout for me at the event. Like Stebbing, Kegan also showed to have solid ball skills as well. He didn’t play varsity last year for Guyer but he is a WR to keep your eye on moving forward who also looks to be a heck of a baseball player as well.
Ernest Campbell – 2024 WR – Refugio, TX (Refugio) – 5’11″/155:

Man oh man, was it apparent that this kid can flat out fly. The very first drill I saw him in, his BIG TIME burst off the line was eye opening. The twitchiness with him is very apparent and I wasn’t surprised to see he is a standout on the track. As a freshman he put out a really impressive 10.63 (verified) 100 meters, which is flat out flying for any grade but especially for a freshman! But don’t get it twisted as he showed on the day that he can also change directions is showed to be a solid route runner at the event as well. His movement is just so effortless and easy. Frame wise he is long and extremely lean so will be interesting to see how much bigger he will get. Once the QBs began to After the event I pulled up his Sophomore film and on one of the clips I saw, the closing speed he displays on one play to track down the WR from behind who had about a 8-yard yard head start is just silly. Even when he’s not footing it out he is still moving. He may not hold an offer just yet, but that won’t stand for very long in my opinion.
