There were several RB in the class of 2024 who had a stellar Sophomore season in 2021. Here are five RB who made the all-state team last year and are looking to improve on their outstanding Sophomore season as Juniors in 2022.
<strong>Sam Williams-Dixon</strong>, 6’0, 194, West Holmes
Sam Williams-Dixon was named 1st team all-state in Division III last season. His awesome play as a Sophomore helped the West Holmes Knights to a 14-1 record, average an impressive 36.9 points per game and help the team advance to the state semifinals. He shows good vision as he quickly finds the open hole while displaying good burst as he accelerates to top speed quickly and runs behind his pads as he falls forward for a couple of extra yards. He is a reliable receiver coming out of the backfield as he shows good hands and uses his very good play speed to gain significant yardage after the catch.
<strong>Sean Patrick, </strong>5’10, 175, Kenston
Sean Patrick was named 3rd team All-State in Division III last season. His great play in 2021 helped the Kenston Bombers to an 11-2 record, advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs and average 25.6 points per game. He shows very good short area quickness as he bounces it to the outside and uses his very good play speed to outrun all defenders for a long touchdown run. He excels in the passing game as he uses his very good athletic ability to get behind CB on wheel routes, tracks the ball well in the air and shows very good hands to catch the ball over his shoulder and accelerates quickly after the catch to the endzone.
<strong>Marquise Hall</strong>, 5’10, 175, Padua Franciscan
Marquise Hall was named 3rd team All-State in Division III last season. His very good play in 2021 (209 carries for 1447 yards and 20 TD) helped the Padua Franciscan Bruins to a 9-3 season and advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. He shows excellent burst through the hole and displays very good play speed and athletic ability to outrun all defenders on a long touchdown run. He is awesome on screen plays as exhibits good hands as he catches the ball with his hands easily, uses his very good elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field as he scores on a long TD reception.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="284614" first="Tanelle" last="Rose"]</strong>, 6’0, 185, Brush
[player_tooltip player_id="284614" first="Tanelle" last="Rose"] was named Honorable Mention All-State in Division II last season. His very good play last year helped the Brush Arcs score 37 points or more three times. He shows good vision as he quickly finds the open hole and shows solid burst as he gets through the hole quickly. He displays very good contact balance as he breaks tackles from DL, runs behind his pads and shows good play speed in the open field as he picks up significant yardage for a first down or score on a long touchdown run.
<strong>Cade Wolford</strong>, 5’8, 155, Jackson
Cade Wolford was named Honorable Mention All-State in Division III last season. His awesome play as a Sophomore helped the Jackson Ironmen to an 11-3 record, advance to the 4th round of the playoffs and average 35.9 points per game. He uses his good vision to find the cutback lanes, running behind his pads with good power and physical toughness as he runs over larger DB at the goal line for the touchdown. He plays well in the passing game as well as he uses his very good play speed to get open down the seam, tracks the ball well through the air and shows good hands as he catches the ball over his shoulder. After the catch is made, he uses his great athletic ability to outrun all defenders for a touchdown.
