The most talented position group of uncommitted athletes in WI is the LB group. There are so many different type of LBs still available. There are edge rushers, off ball LBs, stout run defenders, rangy athletes, D1- D3 talent. It is all here! Take a look at these big time steals! You won’t be disappointed! [player_tooltip player_id="118326" first="Bryson" last="Clarson"], 6’3" 220- New Richmond I am convinced the freakish LB out of New Richmond is a D1 talent from the ILB or edge rusher positions. At ILB, Bryson has all the range in the world. He quickly reads and recognizes plays and flies downhill to make the stop with great burst that translates to sound, hard tackles. As a blitzer, Bryson has exceptional timing allowing him to jump the snap or wait for a lane to open up for him to fly through. As an edge rusher, Clarson has the strength to set the edge against linemen head up, one on one or against pulling linemen. He uses his first step to also fly around the edge and make it extremely difficult for linemen to stay between him and the QB. As a pass rusher, Clarson ha a nice mix of power for his bull rush and quick hands for hand fighting. The freak athlete is also an Academic- All State selection. He is the full package. Someone come and steal this stud. Bryson’s Senior Season [player_tooltip player_id="31241" first="Nicholas" last="Jorndt"], 6’ 210- Whitefish Bay First Team All- State, 2X All- Region, 2X Conference LB of the Year, John Anderson Award finalist (Top Senior LB in State), yet somehow he is still on the market. Take this chance to get a steal, coaches! The leadership is there in spades for the three time team captain. At the next level, Jorndt will need time to fill out. However, he already is showing what you can expect at the next level once he gets the needed size for the position. Between the tackles, Nicholas shows that he has a nose for the football and is able to quickly work through the trash and avoid blocks while moving with the flow of the line. He is a very reliable tackler as well. I’m not sure on his timed speed, but Jorndt has the range to drop into the flats and provide solid coverage making him a three down option at the position. Don’t miss out on him! Nicholas’ Senior Season [player_tooltip player_id="118246" first="Reid" last="Jamerson"], 6’2" 215- Whitefish Bay 24 TFLs, and 12.5 sacks. This dude wrecked havoc on a weekly basis as he set up residency in opponents’ backfields. Reid was a beast off the edge for WB’s defense. He will continue that at the next level. He has all the athletic traits needed to succeed. All he has to do is continue to pack on the size. Lightning quickness is the name of the game for Reid. He absolutely flies off the line at the snap and also is equally as quick laterally. Having that quickness in every direction makes him a nightmare for the OL. Reid also has the play speed to make pursuit plays from sideline to sideline. Jamerson is a natural playmaker that is still available. Get on him quickly! Reid’s Senior Season [player_tooltip player_id="31217" first="Langston" last="Latham"], 6’2" 230- Catholic Memorial This dude owned the tackle box his entire senior season. He navigated the trash with ease after quickly diagnosing plays by finding the ball and reading the flow of the ball. That quick reading skill and acceleration made him difficult to get a hat on. He is also a versatile prospect. Langston can line up at ILB one play and then blitz off the edge the next play, and do it successfully. Latham has the range to be able to play all three downs at the next level too. He can go sideline to sideline in pursuit and drop into coverage as well as he can stuff the inside running game. It is a steal to have such a well rounded LB still available. Especially one who has the size for the next level already. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs2ZKzxB_jQ&ab_channel=MidwestSportsFilm[/embed] [player_tooltip player_id="118498" first="Caleb" last="Rinard"], 6’ 195- De Pere I know he isn’t the ideal size, but what I’ve seen from Caleb the last two seasons make him a pound the table type player. A kid who I would vouch for and put my name on as someone I would want on my team. He made a big improvement from his junior to senior season, is a leader on the field, off the field, and in the weight room, and he has received a lot of notoriety from his coaches for that leadership. Then you click on the tape and you see an athlete who has the tenacity needed to play at the next level. This kid can read and react with the best of them, and his power at the tackle is surprising for his size. He knows how to run through a man. He embodies the idea of being the hammer not the nail. What I like most is that his read and reaction isn’t just against the run. Caleb can also drop into coverage and make plays. This is the type of kid you want to add to your recruiting class. He is going to be someone you can count on. Check the highlights too! Caleb’s Senior Season [player_tooltip player_id="118352" first="Caden" last="Tolefree"], 6’1" 210- St. Joseph Catholic Academy We have a quick twitch athlete here. Caden does a really impressive job of finding the ball and getting to it in a hurry. He also has a lot of film of him disengaging with blockers. He uses a mix of quick hands and lateral agility to keep himself clean of the big men. He has the natural instincts for the position as he reads the play, finds the ball, closes, and makes tackles that stop ball handlers in their tracks. Give Caden time to grow into his frame and a team will have a strong player in their LB room. Check out the film! Caden’s Senior Season Jacob Nesterick, 5’11" 195- Stanley- Boyd A team will have to get creative with the undersized edge rusher, but if they can find him a role he could make an impact. In my eyes, that role is special teams and third down pass rusher. both roles would allow him to use his speed, agility, and burst. As a pass rusher, Nesterick has the explosiveness and natural leverage to be able to quickly get underneath OL on his way to QBs. His bend and flexibility make him an even smaller target to block. I’m excited to see if a team is willing to find him a role because his production shows that he knows how to get after the QB. Jacob’s Senior Highlights
