The 2023 class is very deep at the wide receiver position. There are so many talented players at the position, it makes it easy to forget talented players who could potentially breakout. Here are three wide receivers that you need to have your eyes on going into the 2022-2023 season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="215509" first="Aldrich" last="Doe"], Oakcrest</strong>
Doe Has the physical tools to be a dominant wide receiver. At 6’3 180lbs he already fits the body type that D1 and NFL coaches look for. As he goes further into his football journey he’ll have to add a little more weight, but for now, he’s right where he needs to be. He’s a bigger wide receiver who can win in multiple ways.
He's deceptively quick off the line of scrimmage and has solid change of direction for a bigger receiver. Able to make things happen after the catch. Very quick and agile in the open field, he is a fast long strider.
He has uncanny physical gifts in the form of arm length and leaping ability. Which helps him excel in contested catch situations, with solid body control.
As he possesses all these natural abilities he needs to hone his craft as a route runner. Not much diversity to his route tree, but he has the ability to add that to his arsenal. If he hones his craft as a route runner, he could easily be a dominant receiver at higher levels of football.

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="183641" first="Najih" last="Rahman"], Red Bank Catholic </strong>
One of the cleanest prospects in this class. Doesn’t really have many holes in his game. His two biggest assets are his hands and his ability to get open. Those are the two attributes that you must have to be a good wide receiver, and those attributes flash continuously on his tape.

He is one of the top route runners in the class and shows solid ability to get in and out of routes. Has a diverse route tree and is able to win on a variety of routes. He’s a natural hands catcher with a 74’ wingspan at 5’11 which assists in him making spectacular off-frame catches. Can make it happen after the catch has solid footspeed, physical run style, and a stout lower half that helps him force many missed tackles.

With already receiving a D1 offer from Monmouth, there will be certainly more D1 colleges on his trail especially if he has a season like he did last year.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="181960" first="David" last="Haywood"], Overbrook</strong>
This young man was gifted with tons of athleticism. Doubling as a standout basketball player, the same traits you need to be a solid perimeter defender, he shows on the football field. He has a great frame with long arms and a wide catch radius. He has good change of direction with lateral agility.
He’s still very raw at the position and has immense untapped potential. He can still get better as a route runner and he doesn’t have the high-end speed. However, he does have a myriad of ways he can win. If he continues to hone his craft, with his athleticism, he will have bright future prospects.
