Here are some 2022 offensive lineman across the state that have risen up our rankings and put together very impressive Senior seasons.
[player_tooltip player_id="141887" first="Michael" last="Wooten"], Sierra Canyon HS Wooten inked with Oregon already, and his length and frame offers tremendous upside at the next level and he offers legitimate NFL upside at the tackle or even guard position. Holding multiple power five offers, Wooten is a true athlete who is light on his feet and moves well laterally while also a natural bender in and out of his stance. Possessing a strong initial punch, he drives defenders off the ball and can combo and scrape to the second level effectively. [player_tooltip player_id="141898" first="Jackson" last="Brown"], San Ramon Valley HS Brown was one of the most talented tackle prospects in the West and decided to stay home and sign with Cal after initially de-committing. Projected to continue playing the tackle position in college, he has ideal size and athleticism for the position. Very physical at the point of attack, he wins with upper body strength and using an explosive first step and active hands to move defenders quickly inside the box. On tape, he can also block in space and takes good angles to defenders while finishing blocks downfield and can even pull if needed while also excelling in pass protection with active hands and a strong base. [player_tooltip player_id="141959" first="Nathan" last="Elu"], Serra HS Elu was an emerging name as he moved through his Senior season for the Padres and anchored the offensive line for one of the best teams in the state. By the time it was all said and done, he held 7 offers and decided to sign with Oregon State who has had good luck recruiting Northern California the past few years. Like Brown, he is very athletic for his size and can kick inside to the guard position if needed in college. Showing tons of growth physically from his Junior season, Elu is a very intriguing player to watch in the coming seasons in the Pac-12. Jake Steele, Murrieta Valley HS Steele was a bit under-recruited through the first part of his high school career and really impressed at multiple events and during his last two seasons of his prep career. Another natural bender with nice ankle and hip flexibility, he has a quick first step and wins with pad level and initial inside punch at the POA. He can effectively pull when needed and finished blocks downfield while patient in pass protection and showing the ability to wash out against speed rushers while balanced enough to post and anchor against counter moves and inside rushes. Signing with San Jose State, he should find his home at either tackle or guard in college and has position versatility. [player_tooltip player_id="142004" first="Wendell" last="Moe"], Long Beach Poly HS Moe is a true mauler in the trenches and will fill in nicely at the interior OL position for Morgan State. A true road grader and in the box run blocker, Moe plays with good pad level and a relentless motor through contact and when initially engaging. A high tier FCS prospect, he has good lower body strength and will only continue to transfer his weight and become a more polished pass blocker as he continues on through his collegiate career.
