2022 Rankings Risers: Defensive Line

The Michigan signee has impressive tape and offers a nice ceiling at the power five level while playing with good twitch and tremendous strength at the point of attack. A true 3-tech, he is athletic for his size with quick hands upon contact and can win with speed and power from various different rush angles. Also good against the run, he creates immediate knock-back and is violent through contact with ball carriers.   [player_tooltip player_id="141956" first="Adam" last="Tomczyk"], Los Alamitos HS Tomczyk is signed to Utah State and had a dominant Senior season for one of the top teams in the state. Having really nice size for an interior player and impressive athleticism, his frame is lengthy and he has the ability to pack on more weight in college and should find his home as an interior rusher. Displaying first step quickness, he is violent with his hands and shows good placement and immediate extension/sheds blocks quickly while showing nice closing speed in the short area and has a wide variety of pass rush moves. Tomczyk is a very nice addition to an impressive 2022 Utah State class.   [player_tooltip player_id="143112" first="Caden" last="Harman"], Sierra Canyon HS Harman is committed to Army and a true edge defender that is a polished pass rusher coming off the edge. On tape, he shows a quick first step and can flip his hips while a natural bender around the edge. Harmon also flashes a quick use of hands at the point of attack and has a variety of speed and speed to power pass rush moves he can successfully execute. Although a bit undersized against the run, he more than makes up for it with solid pad level, violent hands and exploding through contact with consistent leg drive and violent block destruction.   [player_tooltip player_id="142003" first="Sione" last="Moa"], Mater Dei HS Moa is one of the most underrated defensive lineman across the state and still remains unsigned. Starting for the best team in the country, he is very athletic for an interior player and shows good speed in the short area and impressive lateral movement abilities. On tape, he flashes some twitch in pass rush situations while winning with heavy hands and lower body strength at the point of attack. A tough and high motor player, he is able to play anywhere along the interior defensive line and would make a positive impact on any college program.
