We revealed today the updated 2022 prospect rankings. The list includes over 200 names. Here are the top 5 prospects whose stock rose the fastest:
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135101" first="Tyler" last="Martinez"], Volcano Vista</strong>: Nobody rose faster up the rankings than Martinez, our Class 6A Defensive Player of the Year. He showed glimpses of his potential in the spring when he had 31 tackles in just 3 games. In the fall, he exploded for 145 tackles and an impressive 29.5 tackles for loss. With his size (6-1, 195 pounds) and speed, he’s a perfect fit for a hybrid safety/OLB role at the college level. He’s been offered by NMMI.

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="198032" first="Landon" last="Williams"], Albuquerque High</strong>: Because AHS doesn’t generate a lot of coverage in the mainstream media, Williams was a stealth prospect last summer. But then New Mexico Highlands offered and FCS Stephen F. Austin began to show interest in the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder. Western New Mexico offered in December. His latest offer? A PWO opportunity from New Mexico State, so FBS football could be in his future. More than one-third of his tackles this past season (17 of 48) were for loss.

He finished with 46 tackles and 2 sacks in 10 games to earn All-District honors. His reward? Offers from Lewis & Clark College, Willamette University, Culver-Stockton and Clarke University. With a 6-foot-0, 195 pounds, he possesses the size to excel at the next level.

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="198308" first="Kevin" last="Orona"], Mayfield</strong>: Orona was one of the top defensive players on a Mayfield team that went 7-5 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class 5A playoffs. Orona is a ball hawking defensive back, earning Second-Team All-State honors.

Chavez with 152 in 11 games. he spearheaded a Bernalillo defense that literally willed the Spartans to the Class 4A playoffs even though the offense struggled for most of the season. He had 10+ tackles 8 times, including one remarkable three-game stretch when he collected 20+ tackles in every game.
