<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1688720' first='William' last='Anchondo'], Highland</strong>: merged as one of the top young running backs in the Albuquerque Metro Region. Played a crucial role in Highland's high-powered ground game with 866 rushing yards and 9 TD on 104 carries. Great speed. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1827347' first='Fidel' last='Herrera'], West Las Vegas</strong>: In addition to serving as the Dons' backup QB, Herrera was a defensive standout with 40 tackles, 6.0 TFL, 5.0 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Earned 3A All-State Honorable Mention honors at defensive line.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2108921' first='Antonio' last='Garcia'], Sandia</strong>: Promising young linebacker for the Matadors. Made 23 tackles, 2.0 TFL and 4 QB hurries in just 4 varsity games. Intriguing to see what he does over a full season in 2026. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2109033' first='Jude' last='Herrera'], Volcano Vista</strong>: Began the 2025 season as Volcano Vista's third-string QB, but ended up starting multiple games due to injuries. He performed admirably under the circumstances, throwing for close to 500 yards and 3 TD. He'll compete for the starting job this summer. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2108892' first='Jesse' last='Ornelas'], Eunice</strong>: Contributed to the Cardinals on both sides of the ball, but made his biggest impact as a linebacker. He finished with 112 tackles, 9.0 TFL and a remarkable SIX fumble recoveries. Obviously, he has a nose for the football and fantastic instincts. Potential to become one of the top linebackers in the state.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2108856' first='Jeremiah' last='Ortiz'], Pojoaque Valley</strong>: Young ILB that showed the ability to penetrate into opposing backfields. Earned Second-Team All-State honors after making close to 50 tackles and over 10.0 TFL. Great size at 6-foot-1, 240 pounds. His size, speed and skill make him a next level prospect.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2109724' first='Ace' last='Saiz'], Portales</strong>: Portales has a terrific corps of young players and Saiz is certainly part of that group. He was one of the Rams' top defensive players in 2025 with 87 tackles, 7.0 TFL, 2 INT and 1 forced fumble. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2108874' first='Delvin' last='Sandoval'], Cuba</strong>: The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Sandoval was the only 2028 offensive linemen to make the Class 2A all-state team. Great size. Should have a chance to play at the next level.</p>

<p><strong>Julian Torres, Santa Teresa</strong>: It was a tough year for Santa Teresa, but Torres was a bright spot with over 400 rushing yards and 16 tackles on defense. The Desert Warriors will have a new head coach in 2026, so it will be interesting to see how Torres is utilized in the offense. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1708067' first='Jay' last='Watts'], Legacy Academy</strong>: One of the top young defensive ends/Edge rushers in the Albuquerque Metro Region. Solid sophomore season with 61 tackles, 8.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks and 9 QB hurries. Already possesses good size at 6-foot-0, 200+ pounds.</p>
