The recruitment of these players is still on going and these players have proved that they have the skills to play at the next level. The game of recruiting is complex and can be a struggle for players who know they have the talent to play at the collegiate level, but have been underrecruited or overlooked. Here are some talented seniors who either have less than five offers or none at all.
Aeden Combest | 6’3 217 | Defensive End / Outside Linebacker | Class of 2022 | Prosper HS
Combest plays the game with reckless abandon, has a high motor, and finishes plays with violent intentions. Aeden is a pass rushing machine who seeks out quarterbacks and does damage. Combest has excellent bend, runs the arch well, has violent hands, has great arm length, displays brute strength at the point of attack and he is playmaker off the edge. Combest has flexible hips and active feet that allow quick change of direction. He faced double teams each week and beat them consistently. Aeden plays the run aggressively, keeps a low center of gravity, his athletic frame allows him to cause havoc from either side of the Prosper defense, which allowed Combest to attack from all angles and use his speed to his advantage against any offensive lineup. Aeden uses proper pursuit angles to chase down plays from the backside. Combest played against top flight 6A competition each week in a district that featured 6A DII State Finalist Denton Guyer and Allen. This year I had the opportunity to see Combest on several occasions and coaching staffs definitely made him a priority on their scouting reports. At the next level Combest can be disruptive pass rusher but has the athletic ability to be a 3-4 OLB. Aeden will be a steal for a college program.

Chancellor Anthony | 6’0 170 | Cornerback | Class of 2022 | Mansfield Timberview HS
Anthony is the prototype cornerback with size and speed. Chancellor has ideal length with long arms, fluid hips with flexibility, gets in his backpedal quick with excellent turnover and his eyes are well trained. Anthony plays press coverage aggressively, is strong and physical at the point of attack, allows no free releases, has violent hands and plays with the mindset that allows him to be dominant. Chancellor is a versatile player who understands leverage and doesn’t give ground, which allows him to cover any wideout he lines up against. I have had the opportunity to see Anthony on the 7v7 circuit, in person during the season and watch his film. Chancellor plays with supreme confidence and he has lined up against some of the top wide receiver talent in the state of Texas week after week and played lockdown defense. Anthony tackles well in the open field, stays square and drives thru the ball carrier. It’s a no brainer that Anthony just picked up a recent offer from West Texas A&M. Don’t be surprised as signing day approaches, that college defensive coordinators travel to Mansfield to offer this top flight cornerback.
Thank you God for everything that’s about to happen. #faith #21JC

Jake Kubik Jake Kubik 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Pottsboro | 2022 TX | 6’0 178 | Athlete | Class of 2022 | Pottsboro HS
Kubik is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Watching the tape, Pottsboro made it a point to get the football to Jake on jets sweeps, as well as line him up in the backfield and do what he does best, which is catching footballs from the wide receiver position. Jake has a wide catch radius, excellent hands, can get deep easily and has superb body control to make big catches. Kubik has good speed, is shifty in the open field and tracks the ball well with late hands. Jake played both ways at Pottsboro, which displays his athletic ability to transition to multiple positions on the field. Kubik has the range at the safety position to cover the back end. During his senior season, Jake had 28 tackles, 3 passes defended, 2 INTs with a pick six. In a run heavy offense for Pottsboro, Kubik had 38 receptions, 574 yards receiving, and 6 touchdowns while averaging 15.11 yards a catch. Jake was also a first team all district selection for Pottsboro and is a multi-sport athlete. Jake is also a stellar baseball player. Kubik has several offers from NAIA, DIII and DII programs. Kubik recently picked up a PWO from Arkansas State. There is no doubt Jake will continue to gain interest as February rapidly approaches.

Daviawn Bishop | 5’6 194 | Running Back | Class of 2022 | W.T. White HS
Bishop is a player that offensive coordinators want to get a high volume of touches during a game. Daviawn is phone booth quick, can cut on a dime, has great vison, is a jitterbug in the open field, runs with a powerful forward lean and reads his blocks well. Bishop is a weapon out of the backfield. Bishop was a key cog in the W.T. White screen game. Daviawn has soft hands, gets open easily, and can line up in the slot as a wideout. Bishop is a threat on special teams. Daviawn’s elusiveness, speed and ability to make defenders miss in the open field make him a valuable weapon on special teams. Bishop has a compact, powerful build that allows him run with power and break tackles easily. In 2021 Daviawn, was voted 6-5A DII Offensive Player of the Year, 1st Team All District Running Back, had 2,160 all purpose yards. 28 total touchdowns, 19 rushing, 5 receiving , 1 passing TD and 3 special teams scores. Bishop has two offers Howard Payne and Sterling College. Before signing day I expect Bishop to continue to have schools seek him out.

Jackson Reed | 5’8 170 | Cornerback | Class of 2022 | Nolan Catholic HS
Reed plays with an edge, is a tenacious defender, is physical at the point of attack, has the ability to click and close quickly and plays with a ballhawk mentality. Jackson gets in phase quickly, has fluid hips, gets into his back pedal quickly, stays balanced, has well trained eyes and plays with a high motor. Reed shuts down small windows in the passing game. Reed plays with the mentality that if the ball is in his vicinity he’s grabbing an interception. Jackson is instinctive, is a cerebral player who reads the route tree quickly, which allows him to play man coverage as well as zone. When Reed makes a play on the ball, he immediately turns into a threat to make a house call. Reed is a physical tackler, takes proper angles, and uses great leverage when closing in on an offensive player. Jackson is a dangerous special teams weapon. Reed has another gear when he gets in the open field and has the ability to make defenders miss. Reed was a key contributor on the Vikings defense on their run to the TAPPS State Championship game in 2020. Jackson has an offer from a DIII program in Minnesota and most recently picked up a PWO from Grambling State University.
