Some of California’s top under the radar players will gather at Santa Margarita High School on Sunday to compete in front of scouts and college coaches.
97 players from all over the state will be in attendance. I have seen the list of players and here are some of the offensive players that I have watched play and/or am looking forward to seeing.
QUARTERBACKS
I counted 11 quarterbacks that I know of that will be in attendance on Sunday. I have actually seen a good amount of them play in person or on film. I could break down each one in detail but this piece would be 5,000 words so I will give each quarterback a sentence or two.
Reyn Beal, Yorba Linda: Beal is one of the most underrated quarterbacks in Orange County and will be a three-year starter for Yorba Linda next year. He completed 67 percent of his passes for 2,779 yards and 28 touchdowns to just six interceptions.

Jeremiah Finaly, Los Alamitos: Class of 2024 quarterback who is behind [player_tooltip player_id="25419" first="Malachi" last="Nelson"] on the depth chart. The Griffins also have freshman quarterback Husan Longstreet so it will be interesting to see Finaly’s future.
Justin Gil, La Habra: Quality quarterback for a good La Habra program who may be a three-year starter if he stays at La Habra. The Highlanders got a high-profile freshman quarterback transfer. Gil had 22 touchdowns last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="142016" first="Jackson" last="Holt"], Oakdale: 6-foot-5 quarterback from Northern California who is a three-sport athlete. He has an offer from Yale according to 247Sports.
Blake Miller, El Toro: Underrated class of 2022 quarterback who completed 67 percent of his passes for 2,296 yards and 18 touchdowns for a Co-Sea View League championship team. He is lengthy and has a smooth release.
[player_tooltip player_id="147763" first="Hunter" last="Najm"], Aliso Niguel: Najm started the last three games for Aliso Niguel as a sophomore last season. He is a 6-foot-2 athletic quarterback who trains with quarterback coach Dan Selway.

AJ Perez, Huntington Beach: Perez is a 6-foot-4 class of 2022 quarterback who had a lot of hype entering his senior season. He is very calm in the pocket and has a big arm.

[player_tooltip player_id="169106" first="Evan" last="Pierce"], Tesoro: He shared playing time at Tesoro last season with [player_tooltip player_id="190350" first="Gavin" last="Shiagineik"]. Pierce was more careful with the football and had a breakout game in a loss against Vista Murrieta. He went to the All-American Bowl combine last week.
[player_tooltip player_id="145193" first="Evan" last="Tomich"], Mayfair: He had 27 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions for Mayfair last season. He ran for six touchdowns and is a dual threat quarterback. I expect him to be one of the faster quarterbacks on Sunday.
[player_tooltip player_id="259140" first="Sergio" last="Torres"], Santa Ana: He had a remarkable 28 touchdowns with just 2 interceptions for a good Santa Ana team last season. Torres is a talented class of 2024 quarterback who has a good grasp of the offense and throws a good ball.

Aleks Wojcic, Mar Vista: He threw for 2592 yards and 24 touchdowns with just 4 interceptions last season. Wojcic has a unique throwing motion I am interested in seeing in person.
RUNNING BACKS
[player_tooltip player_id="145237" first="Major" last="Givens"], Steele Canyon: Givens is one of the best underclassmen running backs in San Diego. He rushed for 1,516 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. I expect him to be one of the fastest players on Sunday.

Dathan Lui Jr., La Habra: He ran for over 6 yards per carry for La Habra last season with 10 touchdowns in 12 games. He has solid speed and is tough to bring down.
[player_tooltip player_id="115464" first="Chauncey" last="Sylvester"], St. John Bosco: Bosco’s three running backs from last season are graduating and Sylvester is the next logical replacement. He runs hard between the tackles and is pushing 190 pounds. I am interested to see how fast he is on Sunday.
RECEIVERS AND TIGHT ENDS
Kaleb Marshall, Orange Lutheran: Marshall is a really athletic receiver for a quality Orange Lutheran team. He high points the ball well and runs good routes which means he will probably do well with the agility drills on Sunday.
[player_tooltip player_id="216420" first="Michael" last="Sutton-Shy"], Western: He is a talented class of 2022 receiver looking for an opportunity. He had 746 yards and 11 touchdowns. He took visits to Utah and BYU earlier and I think he is a FCS level talent.

John Tipton, Corona del Mar: He was the leading receiver for Corona del Mar last season and had 11 touchdowns. He is a precise route runner with good speed and a large catch radius. Another class of 2022 guy looking for an opportunity.

Mason Wolfe, Tesoro: He was Tesoro’s leading receiver last year. His strength is making catches in traffic and absorbing big hits. He is a good athlete and I expect him to have a good showing running routes for the quarterbacks on Sunday.
OFFENSIVE LINE
Matthew Mena, Fountain Valley: Fountain Valley had a rough season last year and had to endure a late coaching change. After they played Aliso Niguel, I talked to the Aliso coach and he told me, "Fountain Valley has a long way to go, but the right tackle is pretty good." Mena was that right tackle.
