Two years ago he was a soccer player but added a new sport that ended up leading him to winning the Otis Taylor Award, given to the top receiver in the Kansas City metro area during The Simone Awards.
He was one of three finalists from Missouri, joined by Lee’s Summit North’s Devin Blayney Devin Blayney 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Lee's Summit North | 2022 State MO and University Academy’s Cannon Clark Cannon Clark 5'10" | 155 lbs | WR University Academy | 2022 MO , while Blue Valley Southwest’s Zach Atkins and St. James Academy’s Tyler Claiborne were finalists from Kansas.
Reuben will head to California next week to start his college football career at Stanford. He chose the Cardinals over the likes of Vanderbilt, Kansas State, Kansas and Arkansas State, the other schools he listed as his finalists this past summer.
He follows in the footsteps of his older brother in joining the D-I ranks. Etinosa just finished his redshirt sophomore season at Clemson and was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award back in 2018. His older brother also enrolled into college early.
Mudia Reuben Mudia Reuben 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR Park Hill South | 2022 State MO had a stellar final season for the Panthers, helping them to an 11-1 record and a spot in the district championship game. The season ended with a loss to Liberty North, which would reach the Class 6 finals. He had five catches for 110 yards and two scores in a 34-14 loss.
His final numbers on the year were 1,002 yards on 48 catches and 14 touchdowns. He had 100-plus yard games in six games this year. The others came against Blue Springs South, Grain Valley, Lee’s Summit, Oak Park and Staley.
He had his most catches against Lee’s Summit (8 for 113) with the final reception going for the game-winning touchdown in overtime. His most yards in a game were 164 against Staley.

He also utilized his soccer background, being one of two kickers for the Panthers. He was 3-for-4 on field goal attempts with a season-long kick of 39 yards. He finished 7 for 9 on point after attempts.
Reuben was named the Co-Suburban Red Offensive Player of the Year.
