In the coming weeks positional and overall rankings will be released by class. The QB group has the potential of being one of Oregon’s strongest in some time. Have a look at the state’s top 10 ..
.[player_tooltip player_id="110171" first="Sam" last="Leavitt"] 6-2 195 Westview (OFFERS: Florida St, Arizona)- As most know Leavitt comes from a football family with his brother having a standout season in his 4th year with the Las Vegas Raiders. Sam brings a lot of the "IT" factor to the table and impressed most of the year with 26TDs & 3 INTs, while hitting on 60% of his passes, before a tough season ending loss to Tualatin. You can expect him to have a monster off season and senior campaign if his status holds true.
.[player_tooltip player_id="110242" first="Ryan" last="Oliver"] 6-3 195 Lakeridge- Oliver has the potential of blowing up and being a major D1 QB with continued progression. He is young for the grade making what he has done thus far in his career all the more impressive. Over the last two seasons he has thrown 29 TDs/7 INTs and hit on 64% of his passes in 15 games.
.[player_tooltip player_id="110178" first="Jack" last="Wagner"] 6-4 180 Tualatin- Heading into next year I could see Wagner being Oregon’s 6A POY. He is that talented. His size and ability to run make him one of the most intriguing QB prospects in the West and a true dual threat. Whenever he took the snaps, he was typically the best player on the field.
.[player_tooltip player_id="110187" first="Brock" last="Thomas"] 6-0 175 Sheldon- There is very little Thomas didn’t do last fall, accounting for 43 TDs (22 passing, 21 rushing) and 10 INTs. His 3,671 total yards in 11 games, including 1,494 rushing in 10 games, re-emphasize how dangerous he is. Without Thomas the Irish probably win 1/2 as many games.
.[player_tooltip player_id="110201" first="Hogan" last="Carmichael"] 6-5 195 Summit- Carmichael will be a three-year starter and has the size and arm to be put in the D1 conversation at some level. There is a lot yet to be determined but the potential is there.
.[player_tooltip player_id="157615" first="Blake" last="Baker"] 6-0 175 Clackamas- Baker’s another kid who comes from a football family and possesses some special traits, throwing 19TDs/2 INTs during the regular season. If the Cavs are to make a run next season it will be because of a balanced attacked with [player_tooltip player_id="147244" first="Luke" last="Ash"] running the ball and Baker having a big year throwing.
.Camdyn Stiegeler 6-3 210 Oregon City- One of Oregon’s breakout players of the year after making the transfer from Churchill to 6A O.C. Stiegeler grabbed 2nd team all-conference accolades inn the state’s toughest conference behind Oregon Gatorade POY [player_tooltip player_id="28887" first="Jack" last="Layne"].
.[player_tooltip player_id="205816" first="Hunter" last="Borter"] 6-4 200 Beaverton- Borter had one of the most impressive years of any Junior in Oregon, finishing 6th state wide in total passing yards (1,890) and 5th in TDs with (21) during the regular season . He will need to cut down on his INTs but the kid can play.
.Daschel Smith 6-1 175 South Salem- Not a lot of people know about Smith, but he was very impressive as a Junior, for a Saxons team who has some talented young guys coming up. During the year he was in contention for the most passing yards at the 6A level, finishing 3rd with (2,158).
.[player_tooltip player_id="147249" first="Chase" last="Nelson"] 6-4 220 Central- Nelson’s a big kid who moves well. He had a good year for a Central team which has struggled (2-7), finishing 6th in the state at the 5A level with 1,436 passing yards during the regular season, and 14 TDs/6 INTs.
tie.Caiden Lacey 6-3 195 North Medford- Lacey shared 1st team all league honors at 5A Eagle Point before making the transfer to North. He passed for 1,317 yards, hitting on 62% of his passes. He has a big opportunity with legit guys all around him now.
