In the coming weeks positional and overall rankings will be released by class. As usual all rankings are based on who projects highest at the collegiate level. Have a look at the state’s top 15 LB’s...
<strong>LBs</strong>
1,[player_tooltip player_id="110182" first="Chip" last="Allers"] 6-3 215 Summit- Probably the fastest rising recruit in the state. Allers earned 1st team all-conference honors leading Oregon’s stingiest defense. He separates himself from a testing standpoint, typically being the fastest guy on the field. With the move down to 5A he will be a favorite for POY honors on both sides of the football.
2.[player_tooltip player_id="206771" first="Will" last="Wilson"] 6-3 215 Tualatin- Wilson has legit size and is incredibly fluid from his LB spot. Statistically he had an outstanding year making 79 total tackles, with 10 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks in 11 games. He will be key if the T-Wolves make another run to the title game.
3.[player_tooltip player_id="147247" first="Earl" last="Ingle"] 6-1 195 West Linn- One of the most talented kids in Oregon. Ingle was the defensive POY in the state’s toughest conference, making 61 total tackles with 6 tackles for loss and 5 sacks. He also added 3 INTs and 3 PBU’s, showing off his overall athleticism at the QB spot as well.
4.[player_tooltip player_id="110175" first="Sully" last="McDaniel"] 6-3 225 Clackamas- Another kid who has size and is an outstanding overall athlete. A lot will be determined this off season, and heading into next year, with McDaniel being one of the region’s top lacrosse athletes as well.
5.[player_tooltip player_id="110183" first="Jayden" last="Moses"] 6-0 200 Grant- Moses will go down as one of the top LBs ever to come out of Grant. He earned 1st team all-league honors as a Junior and will end up a 4-year starter. No one questions the talent, it’s just a size thing if we are talking D1 ball.
6.[player_tooltip player_id="204578" first="Caleb" last="Clardy"] 6-1 200 David Douglas- Clardy has one of the fastest rising stocks of any athlete within Oregon. He is physical and anticipates incredibly well. He earned 2nd team all league honors as a Junior and will be in the Mt Hood Conference POY conversation next season.
7.[player_tooltip player_id="270070" first="Calvin" last="Macy"] 6-2 195 Lake Oswego- One of the TRL’s breakout performers this past season. Macy racked up 1st team All-Conference accolades and impressed with his overall athleticism on offense, scoring multiple TDs.
8.[player_tooltip player_id="263787" first="Austin" last="Goetz"] 6-3 200 Tigard- Goetz is athletic first and foremost, and he will provide universities with options positionally. He earned 2nd team All TRL honors at LB and garnered offensive accolades as well. His size and speed will also contribute to his recruitment.
9.[player_tooltip player_id="205823" first="Henry" last="Masters"] 6-3 205 Tigard- Another kid who will be wildly influential on the defensive side of the ball, for a Tigard team who returns numerous all conference athletes. If the Tigers are to compete for a TRL title it will be because of kids like Masters stepping up on D.
10.[player_tooltip player_id="271368" first="Braden" last="Snoderly"] 6-2 210 Canby- Most arent aware but Snoderly had one of the best seasons of any LB state wide. His 97 total tackles and 8 tackles for loss should make him a favorite for conference POY honors next season.
11.[player_tooltip player_id="110217" first="Hudson" last="Davis"] 5-10 210 Newberg- The conference POY on the defensive side of the ball and one of the region’s top wrestlers. From a talent stand point Hudson is the real deal. Collegiately it just comes down to size.
12.[player_tooltip player_id="206762" first="Nate" last="Smith"] 6-2 200 Liberty- Smith has good size and length, and will end up a three year all conference kid. The Falcons have one of the most impressive groups of returners next season as you will hear his name often.
13.[player_tooltip player_id="270181" first="Ben" last="Winjum"] 5-11 195 West Linn- Winjum had one of the best seasons of any defensive player state wide, earning 1st team all conference accolades, while making 79 total tackles with 4 tackles for loss. From a projection standpoint he could end up as a Safety at the next level.
14.[player_tooltip player_id="194897" first="Vaughn" last="Croxton"] 6-1 205 Tigard- One of the top Fullbacks in Oregon who projects on D. Croxton earned 2nd team all conference accolades on both sides of the ball and is another complimentary piece to their 2023 class.
15.[player_tooltip player_id="110241" first="Solomon" last="McDaniel"] 5-11 200 Central Catholic- One of the reasons the Rams won another title. McDaniel plays the DE spot as well but projects at LB. With the graduation of a deep senior class, he will be called upon to step up.
