However, the potential is there for the 2022 season to be an impressive one for the Tigers. We are going to take a brief look at the 2021 season as well as name a few players to keep an eye out for next season.
The 2021 football season got off to a rough start against Little Rock Christian. The Tigers struggled to put up the points during the course of the 2021 season. Central would struggle to 0-10 record on the season but the team does have some talented players returning for the 2022 season. The potential is there for a bounce back season next season.
Looking first, at the offensive side of the ball for the Tigers. Little Rock Central will have experience returning to compete at the quarterback position in 2022. Junior quarterback Nassir Donahoo is a quarterback that does a good job of getting outside the pocket. Donahoo throws a nice deep ball and is dangerous throwing on the run. Sophomore quarterback Gary Rideout is a versatile player that can play all over the field for the Tigers. Rideout is a player that will have an opportunity to earn some snaps as the signal caller for the Tigers.
The rushing attack for the Tigers will be undergoing a youth movement next season as well. Sophomore running back Westley Johnson will have an opportunity to earn plenty of carries next season. Johnson rushed for a little under 400 yards last season and tacked on four touchdowns on the ground. Adrian Bing is a running back that will not be brought down on initial contact. The sophomore running back has the potential to be explosive next season.
From a pass catching standpoint, the Tigers are going to be breaking in some new prospects to haul in passes. Senior wide receiver Braylon Sisks will be a tough player to replace in 2022. Sisks did an excellent job of using his speed to create separation. Fans should look for sophomore Pierre Duncan to see some passes thrown his way as well as Adrian Bing being used in the passing game.
Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball for the Tigers. Little Rock Central is going to need to find a replacement for senior linebacker Jamar Holmes. Holmes racked up 70 tackles last season and was extremely productive. Sophomore defensive back Jaymion Hardin has the potential to be a locked defensive back. He uses his speed and his hands well and can cause plenty of problems for an opposing passing game.
