Playing defensive back is very difficult. You have to have a keen understanding of the game and have great instincts. The Class of 2025 provides a great group of players who are already evolving into elite defensive backs. Today, we will take a look at three prospects who are a part that group. These are prospects to keep a close eye on in 2022.

[player_tooltip player_id="196716" first="Mark" last="Zachery"] has already become a contributor for the Ben Davis defense. As a freshman, Zachery made ten appearances for the varsity squad. In those ten games, he recorded 21 solo tackles. Zachery made his presence felt when it comes to taking the ball away. He recorded a pair of interceptions for the Giants. Zachery also showcased his ball skills by deflecting three passes.

Like Zachery, [player_tooltip player_id="196696" first="Xzavian" last="Lafave"] played in ten varsity contests this past season. In all ten, Lafave was always around the football. Lafave drives on the ball very. He does a great job of putting his foot in the ground and coming up to make the play. Lafave reads the eyes of the quarterback well, and he can create pivotal turnovers. For the season, Lafave registered 30 solo and 42 total tackles. He also nabbed two interceptions.

In his first season of high school football, [player_tooltip player_id="196647" first="Anthony" last="Kelly"] demonstrated that there are several ways that he can help the team. He can play on the offensive side of the ball, where if they can get the ball in his hands he can make a play. Defensively, he showed promise and plenty of up side. Kelly accumulated four total tackles with one interception. He also serves as the team’s punter. This past fall, Kelly punted 25 times, netting 967 yards in the process. He averaged an inpressive 38.7 yards per punt.
