Continue ReadingWith the second National Signing Day just eight days away, I wanted to assure that we at Prep Redzone Dakotas knocked hard on the door on evaluating the talent across the Dakotas that either haven’t seen their first offer yet or are flying under the radar, which defines this entire list of six prospects. All six of these young men moved up in our rankings with the January update, as this list has a multitude of Division II talent to NAIA talent that is still relatively untapped in the Dakotas market. These six are the only six out of our 325 players on our prospect list that are still uncommitted, which is why we wanted to spotlight them first on this Tuesday night. Without further a do, take a look at The Uncommitted Stockrisers in our final Class of 2022 rankings that deserve a shot at the next level!
Parker Nelson Parker Nelson 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB West Fargo | 2022 State | Running Back | West Fargo (ND)
I am a huge fan of Parker’s vision between the tackles, which is why he jumped nearly 75 spots in our latest rankings up to #68 overall at grades out as a Division II prospect in our eyes. When you watch his first few clips, you see a tailback that can make something out of little to no room at all with not just his burst, but his east-west cutting ability. Regardless if it’s on a screen pass or a rush to the outside Parker’s speed is explosive and when he hits the open field it becomes even more aggressive as far as how fast he can get with his top speed. Parker can make really quick reads in a pinch and follow his blockers lead before getting into too much traffic on the outside. This young man also has fantastic stamina and can finish runs without getting chased down at the end of the play. The fact that Parker doesn’t have an offer listed as of yet, is so freaking surprising to me which is why I moved him up so high, as I think he’s North Dakota’s best kept secret despite playing at the highest level in state in 11AA.
Lane Caraballo Lane Caraballo 6'4" | 205 lbs | ATH Divide County | 2022 State | Athlete | Divide County (ND)
Off the start of his film, there is a heck of a lot to like about this kid’s athleticism at the next level. He shows off a quick release that has solid touch on the ball on shorter throws. When Lane gets an opportunity for a deeper throws he shows off similar speed when it comes to getting the ball out quick but hits a little more zip with his arm strength. This kid is very instinct and although I think he has some raw ability, he makes it work with his ball placement hitting his wide outs right in the proper spot. Lane also shows a quick motor wherever he lines up as he hustles just as hard on special teams as he does on offense. As far as the next level goes, I project Lane as a linebacker as at 6’4 210 pounds, he shows strong physicality on his tackles and shows off a long reach to be disruptive against shorter quarterbacks with his length of knocking the ball down. He also has a lot more speed in the tank than you would expect for his size, as he a rumbler running downhill when he gets a chance pound the rock inside. Lane is the definition of a total mismatch in 9-man football and I cannot wait to see where he ends up at the next level. He moves up 26 spots in our final Class of 2022 rankings out of Divide County.
Ryan Jochim Ryan Jochim LB Herreid-Selby | 2022 State | Linebacker | Herreid-Selby (SD)
Ryan is a player that is tough as nails that projects as a linebacker at the next level, but played on both sides of the line for the Wolverines. When I watch Ryan in the trenches, I do not look at his size, I look at the smash-mouth demeanor he plays with on every single play. He packs a strong punch that despite going up against usually bigger competition, he is just a player that just knows and respects his role and just shows a strong work ethic. He shows a great contact level when it comes to his tackles and gets a solid pad level as a nose tackle on the offensive line. His ability to maneuver east and west to make a play on the football is what makes this young man fun to watch as he plays hard as a first level punch out of the tailback that always connects. Ryan may not have the flashiest flash you will ever see, but as far as his grit level, he plays hard-nosed football and is a hard worker deserving of a chance at the college level. Ryan is a double digit spot mover in our latest Class of 2022 rankings.
Highlight Tape
Braden Dierickx Braden Dierickx DB West Central | 2022 State | Wide Receiver | West Central (SD)
I love watching Braden’s burst off the snap as he has hella jets out the gates to get in great position to make a play. You can certainly depend on this kid to make the high-traffic catch in multiple man coverage which he shows off at a high level in his early tape. He might not be the biggest wide receiver you will ever see, but he shows off a solid stretch for his size when the ball is within range. Braden has soliid elusiveness with his route running and can flip his hips on a dime to get in the opposite direction. He shows off quick reaction time when the ball is thrown his way with the great adjustments he can make. He is a lot tougher to tackle than I am sure he gets credit for, as he has such strong footwork to make some big-time noise in the open field and off of contact with the secondary. Braden is another big climber in our rankings with over 1000 receiving yards on the season and up 22 spots in our latest Class of 2022 rankings.
Kyle Hirsch Kyle Hirsch ATH Gayville-Volin | 2022 State | Athlete | Gayville-Volin (SD)
If you are looking for a prospect that will outstretch his range, Gayville-Volin’s Kyle Hirsch Kyle Hirsch ATH Gayville-Volin | 2022 State might be the guy you are looking for. He is a determined wide receiver that runs a streak route at a high-level and will go to all ends to make the catch for your team. He shows off a great vertical and strong balance with his landing of some extraordinary plays he made in his senior season. This young man is a 9-man playmaker and can turn nothing plays into solid gains in a quick amount of time. He also has strength as he can a cornerback off his route and give himself a bigger cushion to work with. You can also work this kid into multiple formations in the backfield, as he puts his athleticism to work when working east to west with his rushing ability. Kyle is also a viable weapon in the return game and that just adds another element to his skill set. I would love to watch this young man at the next-level as he has so many skill sets he brings to the next-level that could be viable especially on the offensive side of the ball. Kyle moved up 26 spots in our latest rankings update in the Class of 2022.
Chase Wickoren Chase Wickoren OL Wahpeton | 2022 State | Offensive Line | Wahpeton (ND)
My collegue Jake Evans already did some diving this week into Chase’s film but with the skillset this young man plays with and no offers, thus far he’s due for more print. Chase has a plethora of strength, great technique, and more that side with his game at right tackle. He shows the finishing ability I love to watch by manhandling a d-linemen to the turf, and can multi-engage on multiple defenders. He also gets fantastic leverage with his shove drawing that defender to the opposite end of where the ball carrier is. Where he passes the eye-test for me, is just how he punches his defender as he makes the right connection as far as his contact without much overkill when the defender is weak in their stance. Chase was a 1st Team All-State selection before the season started, and will more than likely hold that same spot when we rebuild our 11A All-State Team later this winter. There is plenty of NAIA schools that could use this young man next year, as there is no doubt about it with the balanced skillsets he has in his pass blocking and run blocking.
