We scavenged Metro Atlanta to find some D1 worthy RBs, and here are our findings.
Joe Taylor II | 5’10 | Grayson
Taylor followed up a huge Sophomore season with an even bigger Junior season this past year. After rushing for 1,000 yards, Taylor pulled in his first D1 offer from Eastern Kentucky to kick off 2022, and it certainly will not be his last. At 5’10 205, Taylor has the perfect combination of finesse and power. He is a physical runner who can fight through contact for extra yards. His low center of gravity allows him to bounce off defenders and makes him tough to bring down. A one-cut back with some burst. Makes defenders miss with one quick move and then works north. With another big 2022 season, the offers should keep rolling in for Taylor.
Braylon Stokes | 5’11 | Walton
At 5’11 175, Stokes is a true scat-back with some serious speed and receiving skills. Not a super physical runner between the tackles, but he is patient and uses his explosion to shoot through holes upfront and get into the second level. A superfluid runner who can stay upright, even through contact. Uses one or two quick moves to create space between him and defenders, then uses his speed and acceleration to run away from everyone. Valuable as a receiver as well. Can take a screen to the house or can go downfield for a pass. Stokes is in line for a big senior season. Should he get that, he will be on the radar for plenty of schools.
Peyton Streko Peyton Streko 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB West Forsyth | 2023 State GA | 5’11 | West Forsyth
Streko just played in 4 1/2 games in 2021, but was a difference-maker. He totaled over 800 total yards of offense and 13 TDs in that short amount of time. Streko has legitimate 4.4 speed and is extremely twitchy. Once he has an opening to run, there are not many defenders that can chase him down or stay in front of him. TO go along with his speed, he is also an extremely physical and aggressive runner that doesn’t shy away from contact. Has a low center of gravity and packs a punch when colliding with a defender. Also utilizes a pretty deadly spin move to fend off tacklers. Already has plenty of D1 interests. Those interests should turn into offers if he can stay healthy.
Malachi Jeffries | 5’11 | Cartersville
Jeffries is a different style of RB than everyone else on this list, and that is what makes him unique. At 5’11 205, Jeffries is a bruiser style back, but he also has some elusiveness and explosiveness. A physical runner who has touchdown on his mind every time he touches the ball, and will do anything to reach the endzone. Does not have elite speed, but he has plenty of acceleration and explosiveness to break out longer runs. Players of his size and strength are usually not super athletic, but Jeffries is. Because of that, he will be a valuable piece for any program in need of a change of pace back.
Scott Moskowitz | 5’11 | Milton
A physical runner who is a TD threat every time he touches the ball. Is patient behind the line and uses his explosiveness to get into the second level. Once he gets going, it is hard to take him down. Rather he decides to run you over, run past you, or make you miss, he is not going to go down easy. Moskowitz rushed for 7.2 yards per carry his junior season, so to say he is a big-play threat would be an understatement. With the two leading rushers on the team headed for graduation, Moskowitz is setting up for a big senior season, which could set up some offers for him.
Amon Williams Amon Williams 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Denmark | 2023 State GA | 5’9 | Denmark
Williams was targeted early and often for Denmark, and you can clearly see why that was the case when you turn on the film. Williams ran the ball 237 times his junior year, and caught 21 passes as well. Williams looks to be one of the most complete backs in the state for the 2023 class. He is a physical runner who can bounce off tacklers and fight for extra yards. He also shows quick bursts of acceleration in the open field. He is effective as a receiver and turns upfield as soon as he gets the ball. Shows some promise as a blocker as well. Due to his experience and versatility alone, he is someone to watch down the stretch of this next recruiting cycle.
