Continue ReadingSunday Prep Redzone held its annual Stock Up Showcase in Fort Worth at Nolan Catholic High School. Our showcase offers the opportunity for young student-athletes to display their athletic ability in front of college coaches, local trainers, and scouts. In addition, our mission is to provide coverage to prospective student-athletes looking to compete and earn scholarships. Attending showcases or camps is an excellent platform for student-athletes to learn and develop into well-rounded athletes. Each attendee must take heed of the knowledge they gain at camps and implement it into their workout regiments which will translate to their on-field performance. Today we will cover five standout performances that coaches and scouts from the showcase feel will have the opportunity to earn Division I offer this summer.
Class of 2023 Standout Performances
Kaden Freeman Kaden Freeman 6'4" | 230 lbs | DL Reedy | 2023 State TX – Reedy Frisco – DE 6’4 230lbs
While watching the defensive ends compete in 1v1 repetitions, Freeman displayed an array of athleticism. He meets the eye test for measurables and backs it with his abilities. Freeman is an explosive edge rusher who uses different techniques when pass rushing. During 1v1, he was great at attacking the line of scrimmage while utilizing finesse and power to beat his opponent. In addition, Freeman is a student of the game and displayed the ability to be coachable, making minor adjustments after receiving corrective criticism. I foresee Freeman earning a Division I offer this summer with his hard work and consistency displayed yesterday.
Dalyn White – Hebron – DE/DT 6’4 260lbs
White is an agile defensive lineman with the size and athleticism to go with it. While watching the forty-yard dash, White was moving very fluidly for a kid his size. In 1v1 repetitions, he displayed the versatility to play several defensive linemen techniques. White possesses the explosiveness to play the edge but was more dominant using his power while lined up in the 3-technique. He came off the ball aggressively with active hands while under control. He came up high in a few repetitions but regained himself to finish his rush. White possesses the talent and size to earn a Division I scholarship, so look for him to stand out during additional camps he may attend this off-season.
Jalile Bost Jalile Bost 5'11" | 160 lbs | WR Pebble Hills | 2023 State TX – Pebble Hills (El Paso) – WR/ATH 5’10 155lbs
When a kid travels eight hours to learn, compete and get his name out there, you must respect his family and dedication. However, his long drive didn’t go in vain because Bost was arguably one of the fastest student-athletes at the showcase. Bost is a dynamic athlete with excellent speed, hands, and agility. While competing in 1v1, he displayed the ability to run sharp routes, separate from defenders, and high point the ball. He had 544 yards receiving, seven touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and roughly 134 kick return yards this past season in only eight games. If Bost continues to attend camps this off-season, I believe a Division I school will see his abilities and offer him.
Class of 2024 Standout Performances
Kristopher Wokomah Kristopher Wokomah 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Arlington Bowie | 2024 State TX – Arlington Bowie – Safety 6’0 175lbs
Wokomah is already making a name for himself by earning an offer from Florida Atlantic University as a sophomore. He is an aggressive safety who gets physical with receivers when in coverage. Yesterday he displayed his speed and agility during drills and 1v1 repetitions. Wokomah meets the ideal safety measurables and can come down in the box to reap havoc. In addition, Wokomah is terrific at using his size to impose his will. I watched his highlight film to analyze his skills further, and he is an absolute head hunter. A young athlete with his ability will continue to develop and receive the notoriety deserved.
Antonio (TJ) Pride Jr. Antonio (TJ) Pride Jr. 5'11" | 160 lbs | WR Desoto | 2024 State TX – Midlothian Heritage – WR 5’11 165lbs
Pride was another sophomore who stood out yesterday. He is an explosive receiver with great route-running ability. During 1v1, he made several contested catches with excellent body positioning. Pride also displayed the ability to adjust his body while the ball was in the air. In addition, his transition out of cuts was fluid and allowed him to create separation from defenders. I reviewed his highlight film, and his abilities were consistent with what I saw during the showcase. Pride led his team with 776 receiving yards and had nine touchdowns. His explosiveness and knowledge as a sophomore are noteworthy, and I believe he possesses the ability to earn himself a Division I scholarship this summer.
