Below we have lockdowns, ball hawks, and excellent center fielders on the gridiron and due to their skills, they caught many eyes.

Dylan Smith Dylan Smith 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Braswell | 2023 State TX – Braswell
Smith shows fluid hips and a good drive on the ball when its in the air. He is very good in man situations, being physical with receivers but is aware enough to get his head back to the ball. Smith has great ball skills, recording 4 interceptions for his junior season including one returned for a touchdown. Smith showed great recovery speed when needed and was quick in diagnosing plays and routes. He was not fooled by much and made plays when needed.
Ryan Yaites Ryan Yaites 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Guyer | 2023 State TX – Guyer
Yaites was a player who the coaches did not mind putting on an island thanks to his abilities in coverage. Everything was mostly man coverage and Yaites never backed down from the challenge. He was physical at the line of scrimmage with receivers, not allowing much, and showed very good recovery speed. In coverage, Yaites played the ball very well and played through the receivers hands even better. He never gave up on a play, the effort was always there. Yaites definitely proved to be top at the position in run support as well. He showed no fear in putting his nose in the mix when it came to tackling in the box.
Bravion Rogers Bravion Rogers 5'10" | 190 lbs | DB La Grange | 2023 State TX – La Grange
Rogers was smooth in coverage and ran step for step with opposing receivers. He is an athlete who possesses the speed and awareness which puts him on the top list of defensive backs. Rogers plays a physical game as well. He will come off his coverage and make timely plays we he recognizes what is happening. His reaction to plays is outstanding and he is an excellent tackler in space as well.
Jayven Anderson Jayven Anderson 6'1" | 200 lbs | DB North Shore | 2023 State TX – North Shore
Anderson was a big part of the North Shore championship run this year. He was a ball hawk who showed a great jump on the ball and had the quickness to undercut routes on a consistent basis. Anderson was also tremendous in the run game as well as in coverage. He laid the wood and did not miss many tackles. He showed very good lateral speed and when he came downhill he went with a purpose. Anderson had 5 interceptions on the season including the game sealing state championship pick and will be a player looked upon to lead and continue the ferocious winning ways especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Taylor Davis Taylor Davis 6'0" | 190 lbs | DB Ridge Point | 2023 State TX – Ridge Point
Davis is the player on the field who you do not want to get hit by. Davis sends a message when he hits and he does not let up. Davis plays the center of the field to perfection. He shows good ball skills and plays the deep ball very well. In coverage he can keep up with just about anybody and reacts quickly to the ball in the air. In the box, he is basically another line backer. He is physical at the point of attack and sheds blocks quickly to make plays. Davis is an all around great player who will make even more noise heading into his senior season. He finished his junior campaign with 87 tackles and 4 interceptions including 1 pick six.
