Continue ReadingMany of the names that will be listed will be household names that people know, but we also have many who may not be on the radar who left it all on the field. We have some true dawgs on this list who live to embarrass defenses as well as those who are crisp route runners who move the chains. The players listed can all contribute to any program if given the opportunity, and all have shown they can get the job done.
Cameron Price – St. Thomas Catholic
Not enough good things can be said about Price’s play on the field. A playmaker, a gamechanger, and an all out baller who shows that he is the best player on the field. The quickness and deep route running causes headaches for any secondary and his run after catch is top tier. Price’s ability and awareness to know where he is on the field and to maintain possession on sideline catches is astounding, and he is a physical player, looking to deliver the blows rather than take them. Price hauled in 80 catches on the season for 1,549 yards with 17 receiving touchdowns. Price is a stud and there is no question about it!
Traylen Suel – College Station
Suel showed out in the team’s state championship appearance where he scored an 80 yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage, but that was nothing new for him. Suel is one of the best after the catch and is a lethal athlete in space. He is such a gifted athlete who’s speed can beat any defense. Suel is a confident catcher who takes 50/50 throws and is a player who turns a 2 yard catch into a 60 yard touchdown. Just a special talent who should be on everybody’s radar with the things he has done this season. Suel finished his senior year with 1,142 receiving yards with 17 touchdowns on 92 catches, and showed that he is a dangerous return man as well.
Joel Hutchins – Lutheran South Academy
20 touchdowns and 1,311 receiving yards on 78 receptions. Hutchins dominated when he stepped foot on the field. Hutchins did not need much space to make things happen and he put his skills on display after the catch. His speed and quick twitch stood out on film, and his ability to win 1 on 1 balls. Hutchins initial step off the line can freeze defenders and allows him to run right passed them. Hutchins is the truth, and his film and play backs it up.
Xavier Neal – Heights
Big play threat athlete who takes advantage of single coverage and uses his speed to beat defenders. Neal showed that he is also an excellent return man and can switch the field in a flash. On the season, Neal caught 77 catches for 1,209 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. A skilled athlete who can change a game with his presence on the field.
Cadyn Bradley Cadyn Bradley 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Spring | 2022 State TX – Spring
Bradley is more of your physical receiver who excels at 1 on 1 deep catches. He shows excellent hands that are strong and Bradley goes up to get the ball. He is a receiver who can hurt you on a double move and take a 5 yard in route to the house. For his senior season, Bradley hauled in 58 catches for 1,129 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. During the season he also showed that he can be a very dangerous return man as well.
Kole Wilson – Paetow
Wilson had himself a season and showed why he is not only a top playmaker in the city, but in the state. He is just an all around athlete who gets it done. Wilson is electric when he touches the ball whether that be in the return game or lined up in the slot, or even on the outside. The state champion causes issues for defenses with his quickness and ability to beat anybody to the outside. He shows excellent footwork and breaks out of his routes that makes it hard for anybody to stay with. He can hurt you in so many ways its scary. Wilson finished the season with 998 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 51 catches and had some very good numbers in the return game as well.
Kameren Kirkwood – Crosby
Kirkwood made a living with yards after the catch. He was a nightmare for defenses after the catch and in the open field. He could not be brought down! Kirkwood’s strength and balance are off the charts. The vision with the ball in his hands also showed to be one of his top attributes as he somehow constantly found a way to always get big yards after a catch. Kirkwood physical play at receiver really stands out and the ability to bring down contested catches fairly easily was an eye catcher. On the year Kirkwood caught 57 passes for 1,090 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns.
Andrew Maleski – Bridgeland
Maleski was something special this year and without a doubt raised his stock even with health issues at the quarterback position. He was the safety net and such a reliable target throughout the season. Maleski showed that he was lethal in the middle of the field and was excellent at setting defenders up. Defenses would be so worried about the slant that he sold, and would find themselves beat by the sluggo. Maleski was just incredible his senior year showing toughness in the middle of the field and speed on the deep routes. On the season Maleski had 62 catches for 857 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, and adds a performance of a lifetime on ESPN to the resume.
Jordan Kelly – Mayde Creek
The Central Michigan signee showed why he is one of the best in the Houston area. The get off on the snap, the ability to beat a double coverage with his speed, and the agility to make defenders miss after the catch are all skill sets that are in Kelly’s bag. He was a bright spot for the team this year as they struggled but he continued to ball. Kelly finished his senior season with 49 catches for 898 yards and 10 touchdowns. It will be exciting to see how he continues to develop as a Chippewa! Nothing but good things are in store for Kelly.
Ben Ferguson – The Woodlands
Ferguson was the top target for his team and the film shows why they wanted the ball in his hands. On the season Ferguson caught 46 catches where he racked up 1,010 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. He often had defenders reaching and grabbing due to his route running and showed to be excellent on the 50-50 jump balls. He showed to be an all out athlete who made plays when needed.
